I just joined this forum and it is great.
I put this post up b4 but I guess it was the wrong forum. I'm hoping I can get more help in this forum.
I am a South African (Indian) and have been offer a job with an oil and gas company. The job is located in the Dubai port of Jebel Ali Free Zone.
The package offer to me is as follows :
$ 2750 plus
Living Allowance which comprise :
COL - $637
Housing and Utilities - $1387
The total package is $4774 (per month)
This is about ~ AED 17,500.00
There is also an 8% bonus and a $200 increase every 6 months for the first 3 years.
Also there is 30 days vacation pa. and they provide airfare to return home once a year.
Is this offer a good one. If I take it I will relocate alone.
I know accomodation is expensive but I would like to rent a 1 bedroom flat/apartment. What will this cost me?
Is there any accomodation near the Jebel Ali Free Zone so as to make my traffic problems as minimal as possible. I would also like to rent/purchase a car. Would I manage all of this with the salary offered?
I know saving in Dubai is difficult but I know I can do it. I just want to be sure that I can survive there financially.
I have to make a decision soon so I would really appreciate any help.

Depends on the job position (worth or not) and your lifestyle. In general, it would be sufficient.
