Saw it last night. Didn't Like it.
I thought it had great potential, especially considering the cast.
And to be fair, Christian Bale and Russel Crowe put in good peformances.
But, without giving it away, my main gripe was the final denouement!
I just felt the ending was too far fetched, too unbelievable in terms
of character development - ie. there is no build-up, no (adequate) preparation to what Russell Crowe's character finally does.
You'll see what I mean if you watch it...
As a good comparison, I thought Open Range (Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall) was a far
far superior (modern) western.
Excellent movie that, actually one of my favorites...
