Its about the struggles a young couple faces in their lives. Very dramatic, but excellent story. Must see for the women among us. Emotion guaranteed. :D ArchitectRoel Eagle Eye Miss_lolly i saw last week bedtime stories :D and this weekend TRAITOR heuu global_headhunter saw "city of ember" yesterday... a sci-fi/fantansy flick based on a novel. pluses: good production, good storyline, actors are newbies but supported by veterans tim robbins, martin landau & bill murray. minuses: pacing is too slow, needs more menace to build the climax & bill murray's character as the mayor of ember is too one-dimensional. trivia: one of the producers of this film is tom hanks :) Miss_lolly
you have to treat yourself by watching movies in grand cinemas
it s really a joy :D sharfraz
joy movies or joy grandcinemas!!!!!?
:?
Miss_lolly
booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth :D RobbyG Slumdog Millionaire global_headhunter
wanted to watch this one... interesting premise. how was it? RobbyG I think its a very good movie. The storyline covers the life of two brothers growing up in the slums of India and they flee as there village is being attacked for reasons of religion... The boys flee the city because they will be made blind with chemicals to earn double the wage of normal streetsingers (or beggers). So they come across all walks of life and he (the youngest) learns things about the world that come in handy later on during a televised game show; Who wants to be a millionair. The youngest of the two brothers keeps looking for his girlfriend from the past, and she ends up with some rich criminal with 10 other young girls for his company. Well, she doesn't think she gets a better life on the streets, so he joins the tv quiz to try and get rich. His older brother is part of the criminal group and helps the girlfriend escape by sacrificing his own life. Eventually he wins 20 million rupees but not without hardship. After winning 10 million rupees he has the explain the police how he knew every question. And basically his story makes the storyline of the movie. I would say; Enjoy this great movie. global_headhunter I will definitely watch it to see if it deserves the golden globes. though i have to wait next week end cos its showing in the cinema on jan 22 :( will try to watch "changeling" tomorrow... RobbyG
You might want to consider, joining a torrent site?
Comes in very handy sometimes, even before the movies are being premiered in cinema's across the globe.
Take Utorrent 1.6 or 1.8 as downloadmanager. RobbyG Latest watched movie; Falling Down global_headhunter i prefer watching in the big theater but would have wanted to check out the site for limited released and indie films but the site is in dutch... darn it! :? sharfraz waiting for bloody valentine 3d jumping into a horror movie this time... hahahahahahahah..... lets see how scary? Miss_lolly i saw all about woman yesterday well for women it s not bad :D and looking for my mother new boyfriend hollalala i m in love with Meg Rayan :D feyrielle i saw about woman, nice movie Miss_lolly

Still amazing amazing amazing!!! RobbyG Recommended movie from Guy Richie: Rock 'n Rolla - (first of proposed trilogy) Speedhump The Sea Is Watching. From a Kurosawa screenplay. Not bad, would have been better if he had been around to direct it. Rocknrolla is good! Rob, try to grab Martina Cole's 'The Take', it was shown in four parts on UK TV this year. Red Chief I've just seen "Vickie, Christina, Barcelona" by Woody Allen. Rather interesting in terms of theme. The main one is ménage à trois. Realisation is rather schematic. So overall impression is mixed. Speedhump Allen lets his actors do a lot of improvisation and is not heavy handed when it comes to directing either. The result is usually quite naturalistic, some film viewers prefer to see stronger boundaries given to actors. My view is that Allen's directing style is hit and miss. I didn't see this one yet. I thought his film Match Point was very good. I just watched an old Eighties UK film, Party Party. Poorish film but music was the best of the era, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Madness, etc. The Eighties was a bit dire musically, so it must have been hard to score. I noticed that several of the actors went on to become UK soap opera stars. As I said, it was a poor film :D Red Chief "Match Point" is good but a little bit derivative, always remind me "Crime and punishment. V,C,B is more original at my test but less integral. Speedhump Fair point, but almost all art is derivative to some extent. Authors, artists, filmakers, musicians will often half admit it by stating their 'influences'. :) Speedhump After the depressing football violence in the UK last night, I am going to watch 'Awaydays' tonight to look for some insight. A film adaptation of a book I read some years ago and can't really remember. / Red Chief Why do you speak in generalities? You are not as old as I thought before althoug I am in doubt yet. 8) Odyssey is the Bible of white man. It doesn't mean that we don't need to see something else. catalyst Body of Lies Speedhump
I don't understand the comments, but as this isn't a discussion thread we should leave it.
Anyway, Plato's Republic should be more the Western Bible than anything else. Red Chief I have just seen "Black Book" by Paul Verhoeven about resistance in RobyG-land at the end of the WWII. Rather weird that the actors speak on their own languages in the film: Dutch, German and English. So I was forced to see with subtitles only. Unfortunately theme of $ex was not developed entirely. :P "Night porter" is much better. Speedhump You like a dirty film don't you Chiefy?? Summer bachelor at the moment?? ;) Speedhump Last night I watched Haven, a 2006 film. Theme: financial double dealing and gangster lifestyle mixed up with a love story, set on the Cayman Isles. A bit of a mess and a poor film (Orlando Bloom was not good IMO) but the mix of accents and patois/dialects was insane, local gangsta types were speaking English and the film was subtitled when they spoke (wha'gwanann.... = what's going on). I enjoyed the feel of the film but the plot was dire. Note for RC - they probably cut the s*x scenes so no need for you to waste your time :P :D Dawwgggg!!!!! :D Red Chief
Poor guy, I sympatize you and understand.
8)
I specialy wrote the name of director. To be frank his "Showgirls" was fantasic film with breathtaking leading actress.
As I don't see any propaganda I have a lot of time for movies instead.
I'm interesred a comment from Rob because "Black Book" has been the most expensive project for all Holland history. RobbyG Yeah for a non-Hollywood nation like Holland, such a movie is quite expensive. For my comments: 'Three Golden Calves'... doesn't say much now is it? I rather see a good english movie from Guy Ritchie or Quintin Tarantino. Speedhump I was asking if you are a summer bachelor, because of your current prurient interests.... Let it pass... ;) Showgirls was a very good film with strong cast and not a run-of-the mill musical in any way. RobbyG Killshot is recommended. Speedhump Did either of you enjoy the Grindhouse double bill, one short each by Rodrigues and Tarantino? It was perfect cheap cinema style, it really hit the spot. RobbyG Thats probably one of them movies where Tarantino commited his name too, but is not really worth the appraisal for it. Haven't seen it...yet. Should I? Speedhump No mate he directed (and post-produced) the heck out of it, so did Rodrigues on his one. You have to see them, they are pure style. Red Chief
I thought that you transfer your own situation to me as you usualy do. Sorry if I didn't guess that you live without family now.
8)
As for your dirty comment I like attractive girls and how they show his attractiveness.
I don't like to have deal with skanks regardless of the maale/female ration in Dubai or anywhere else. Speedhump hey I thought you were going out, Chieftan? Don't forget to wash those important places if you want to get lucky tonight ;) Have fun, catch you down the line. :D saadaf I think it was Kambakht Ishq But it was a bad one Red Chief I have just seen "Elegy". It's about a relationship between lecterur of Fine Art and his young female student. The lecturer was tough as fancing wire old boy of Speedie's age, but bolder and much balder. He has 30 yers difference with Penelopa Cruz, his student. To be frank it was rather boring lovey-dovey stuff, which tried to show that such an old fogy has some future as well, but it's only my opinion. On the other hand I don't like a theatre on the screen: a lot of dialogs and a little action. Speedhump I haven't seen it but I think Ben Kingsley is a great actor. I can't believe that he would not be able to bring emotional depth to any role, but I guess if you don't like slow moving films it would not grab you anyway. He was funny in You Kill Me, a comedy about an alcoholic Polish hitman in the US, and psychotic in Sexy Beast with Ray Winstone. Red Chief Yes, I wanted to listen your opinion. Last movie, "Revolutionary Road" with Winslet and DiCaprio, is really touched me. Will try to see it the second time. It's not "American Beauty" but also about something real. Speedhump Did you see this service yet? / I'm not using it, but considering it. Check it out in Sharaf+ stores They even have brand new films, not always good copies I think, maybe cinema cams, etc. (they don't seem to worry about copyright..I was told it's used by Shk. Mo, or at least his staff) ;) Red Chief To be frank I am very sensitive to the quality of movies. I stopped watching "Show Time" mostly for that reason. Now I took licensed DVD in rent at 5 Dhs per disk. Red Chief I've just seen my first English movie for last 3 years. Surprisingly it is very nice and light and reminds me Truffaut. Anywait it's quite different from Holywood. The title is "Happy-go-lucky". London in the movie (near Yid Army) doesn't look very impressive but with constant sunshine. :) I am curios how could they find so many shiny days in a year. :o ENRAHA! What does it mean? :?: Speedhump
Yeah I liked it, it's remake of an old film which I never saw. My dad gave me the taste for westerns, but in those days it was quite often 'white man fighting the redskin' (Native American), not very PC now.
I liked the fact that Bale didn't suddenly become an amazing gunslinger; although he was a sharpshooter in the army it's not the same thing. He was just a poor and downtrodden rancher with one and a half legs and a son that didn't respect him. I think his heroism was very obvious, an ordinary man with a lot of courage to stand up to his failures in life and make amends for his family. Loved it.
Not so sure about Crowe's character although he was good to watch. I'd like somehow to see the first film and see how it was played there also. Misery Called Life Greetings Gentlemen, Any recommendations on Westerns? Speedhump 3:10 to Yuma (Christian Bale) Broken Trail (Robert Duvall) The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Brad Pitt) Open Range (Kevin Costner but still good) Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood) Tombstone (Kurt Russell) These are some of the most recent ones I liked. Also you should really watch the three boxed tv series of Deadwood, simply brilliant, a real taste of the Old Wild West in all its dirty glory (as I imagine it!). Highly recommended but adult viewing only. Speedhump
I guess you mean Tottenham :D Some of North London is a grubby hole, certainly. It is lower rent suburbs, you have them also in Russian cities I am sure. 8)

Shooting schedules are very tightly planned when shooting in the UK to maximise use of light and weather, otherwise disaster, long delays and huge over budget production. Streets may be cleared, shooting may start as soon as the sun rises, etc.:D

I had no idea but googled and found the following:
+++
Home > Library > Religion & Spirituality > Encyclopedia of Judaism
( ayin ra'ah or én ha-ra; popularly ayin ha-ra). Widespread belief that certain individuals have the ability to cause harm by directing their gaze at others. According to this ancient, deep-rooted preconception, anyone gifted with the evil eye may inflict bad luck, sickness, or even death, and the potential victim must therefore devise ways to safeguard his person or property against a harmful glance. Superstitions of this kind originated in an idolatrous fear of provoking the gods or of tempting jealous mortals and "familiars" to cast an evil spell on the unwary (see Demons and Demonology; Witchcraft and Sorcery).
+++
It seems that the actor Eddie Marsan who plays the driving instructor is Jewish (and a London boy, born in Bethnal Green) so there is a link, as he says that he was involved in improvising this idea himself.
&page=2 Red Chief It was provocative question, you know. 8) Anyway despite rather poor quarter the film looks much more realistic life-affirmating if you compare it with Holywood polished scenes. To be frank I like your new tag about depression. I'm not sure about anger but lack of enthusiam is absolutely true. The lead femaile charackter is absolutely enthusiastic in spite of all her mishaps. :D Misery Called Life Yo SH thanks... Downloading 3:10 to Yuma now! Speedhump
tell everyone !!!! :D :D Speedhump
Depression, goes the old saying, is anger turned inward.
I didn't see the film but that kind of person, who seems always so happy, is the most likely to suffer from depression I think. Hiding unhappiness until it assumes massive proportions, then imploding. I never thought it could happen to me, I didn't see it coming, is the comment.
I'll be watching Redemption Road later. Also maybe Kung Fu Hustle (again) if I need cheering up afterwards! :D Red Chief Well. It's impossible to discuss some movie without seeing, although it was extremely popular on meetings of CPSU some time ago. I forgot another rather interesting movie I saw recently. The title is "Deception" with Ewan McGregor, Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams. I will not be suprised if somebody (who could it be? 8) ) accuse me in falling in lust but really film is about relationship although I cannot say that the idea of such a club is not interesting at all. Speedhump Hmmm....your interest in the dark side is developiing..... :D I saw Deception last year, my remembrance is quite enjoying it, but my memory is such that I never remember many details of films after 6 months or so, therefore discussion would be difficult. Before you ask, it's not onset of Alzheimers, I have always been that way with film media, and it allows me to watch over and over with the same enjoyment, rather like a 5 year old child. ;) Another film which explores the loss of passion and excitement and attempts to replace it at heavy cost is the Polanski film Bitter Moon, funny and shocking. A film I would actually label as great. I will try to find it again as I need to watch again. Misery Called Life
In a similar vein I liked Eyes Wide Shut much more. (Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman) Red Chief Will try to see the film but I doubt that Tom the fairy and Nicole the less can make that story plausible, sorry. Cruse trashed "The Firm". I cannot pardon him. Speedhump I agree, Cruise has many sins to account for, but he didn't manage to trash Vanilla Sky in my opinion. He falls apart very well through the film, and I love the plot, complex or even dense which some people I know hated, but all is revealed at the end. I don't care about not being able to follow a film sequentially as long as I can try to put it together at the end. Plus Penelope Cruz...:thumbright:....you can throw Cameron Diaz back in the water. Red Chief Vanila Sky is one of the best film I've evwer seen. Cruise aws briliant. Sorry, Johnnie prevents me from walking. Speedhump LOL. Johnny is a bad boy but Jack is the one who always cripples me.... ;)
My new media player arrived today, has 80 Blu-ray films and 500 DVD quality films pre-installed, so I'm dumbfounded as to what to watch next. :D
Just watched Redemption Road (quickly, as realised I saw it on a plane a couple of months ago, I can't believe myself sometimes.....)
Very moving film. The dead boy's family must hope to rebuild their lives after Phoenix gets his 'closure' in finding the killer, but the accidental killer has to live with the remorse and guilt for the rest of his life (and you can see he is intensely guilt-ridden). Lots of inner conflict enacted by good actors always makes a great film I think.
Get some sleep now and reply at 3 a.m. :D
Red Chief Whatr do you want to say, bloody wizard? :D Yes, I also pefer Jack ti Jonnie but it doesn't mean that your father messed with my family, or not. :?: Speedhump Watched Righteous Kill. De Niro and Pacino. The story is thin and predictable, with a small twist at the end that presumably was felt necessary to try to lift the film out of the mundane. Great actors, and they should be avoiding these roles now. They are in fact too old to look good shooting guns. Someone should tell Stallone the same too. Misery Called Life 3:10 to Yuma was nice! I like how the tension builds up right to climax, where I was eagerly anticipating some sorta heroism from Bale. Alas it never came! Wow! A story like that with any other actors would have had to premier on Showtime. But the cast here really make it work. Russel Crowe and Christian Bale bloody amazing performers. Misery Called Life
Agreed I have yet to fine tune my tastes. Long legs, T*ts and a good story leave me quite satisfied. :D
Leaving my preferances aside Rotten Tomatoes did give this movie a 78% rating. That should'nt account for nought.
I noticed you enjoyed The Italian Job? If bank heists are your thing then I would highly recommend The Bank Job (Jason Statham - not his usual fare where suspension of reality is mandatory)
The best thing about this caper whose elements include a royal scandal, exotic locations, MI5 involvement, a brothel with a clientele from high places, corrupt cops, romance and a heist by a bunch of small-time crooks, is that it is based on fact. Red Chief I have just watched 50 Pills, rather funny commedy about how good students life should be in contrast with boring downloading dumb movies and dreaming about a girl just for fun up to 3-30 AM. Yes, the film about NYC with X, booze and girls in between. event horizon 3:10 to Yuma with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe Speedhump
MCL, he means you!! :D
For a film about NY nightclubs you should see 54, semi-fictional film about the very real Studio 54, a notorious NY club with very high profile guests a while back. Very enjoyable excess. Red Chief I'm not really interested in nightclubs because I visited them a lot around the Globe. I'm Moscow boy. Remember? Of course it’s not London but what they call night clubs in Dubai is a big joke. They are rather factory of brides. I like movies about student’s life because high school was probably the most memorable time for me. One day I had 2 girlfriends at the same time, both from my class. So I don’t understand what MCL is moaning about. Speedhump Dubai nightclubs fall into two categories for me. The meat markets or the Lebanese movie star fantasy world. The idea of men's style in the ME with the short tight shirts or t-shirts showing big muscled arms, with maybe a cigarette packet tucked up the arm, is so corny it's laughable. And sorry, but yellow and pink loafers do not cut it :D 54 is a good film, it's about the excesses of celebrity rather than the working of a nightclub. Also sorry to say that I like Mike Myers, I admitted it. Misery Called Life
Got that Speedy :D
Alrit Chiefster I've aldready completed the entire college cum graduation ritual. Now settling into old age :P
And I've had it with teen college movies mate, been there done that! Guess you watch em for old time sake eh?
But seriously there is absolutely no campus culture here whatsovr, and the influx of students reeks of retardation. As an exchange student I made the wrong choice in coming here to study.( Study? Did you say study and where? hah ah - Made me the joke of the century back home)
Yea there were women, I had a car some friends but it was all astoundingly monotonous not to mention costly.
Should've gone to Perugia instead! Red Chief
It's an off-topic but could you explain about exchange student? As far as I understand you don't live in host family, but rent a flat by yourself.
Do you have a scholarship?
What was the financial sence in studing in this place?
Thanks. Misery Called Life
Transfer student. I transferred my credits here.
I moved to AUH only in Jan.
Financial sense? Well I intend to stay put for atleast another year, hence the move to a flat.
Currently am busy studying for an American based certification, so technically I'm still studying. Then I'm also a full time private investor focussing on stocks in the ME and India, with commodities on the anvil. So I've taken some time off just to analyse companies and study for the certification.
By Nov I'll initiate my job hunt in full swing, hopefully things'll go according to plan. If things don't workout then I'll probably packup by Feb-March, subject to the value of my investments (no way in hell I'm leaving my invested capital here without ma constant monitoring)
BTW a sequel to the Micheal Douglas movie Stock Market will go on the floors soon. redtilldead
Love that movie! :D Red Chief
I've just seen "The Bank Job". Sorry, but I wasn't impressed at all.
Firstly it's probably due to I hate 70s. London in the films looks rather grey. Moscow was probably even greyer according to teen's Speedie's impression.
Secondary although Italian job is more cartoonish there were more humour and ingenuity.
I'm not sure that it's good to follow real events for movie. Speedhump :D Moscow in the 70's was austere, but London was horrifically grimy, the architecturally lovely buildings were all caked in more than 100 years of coal soot and were cleaned slowly over the next 10-15 years. It's nicer now, as I'm sure Moscow is! ;) Statham I like as a gritty ironic London hardnut, he does play for sardonic laughs, as all classy villains in real life do, but I didn't see the film, I guess I will sometime, purely to judge. The first Italian Job (with Michael Caine) is a classic and favourite of mine, but the remake was better than I thought it would be, I had low expectations. Good film. Yesterday I watched Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler and found myself astonished that I enjoyed it. I did not think of him as an actor with any depth, but changed my opinion overnight. Watching him fumbling to come to terms with a sea change in his life was very moving. The ending I hated, maybe it was engineered for US audiences, because it seemed possibly hopeful whereas his final life choice, to me, should have ended with unmistakable pathos. Unless I misread it. But the film I really enjoyed. I think it shows that actors can always improve their craft, more so with age and wisdom. Michael Caine is a much better actor now than in the Italian Job and other early films (he always had screen presence, but not the acting skills to enhance it). :D Misery Called Life Downloading The Wrestler right now :D You suprise me RC. Judging by some of ur fav movies like Requiem for a Dream etc I thought you liked dark grey characters and themes with the occasional t*t a requisite( to mantain concentration surely) I actually thought the storyline of The Bank Job was quite powerful which totally distrcted me from the grimy scenery, not to mention the presence of the gorgeous Saffron Burrows, who I could'nt stop drooling over. Keep the recommendation flowing guys! Red Chief
I don't have any preference in genre but evalute very much if there is something real behind the plot. In this terms "Requiem" is realy great movie.
As for Saffron Burrows you are right but sex issue wasn't developed well so her role as well as how another characters connect to each other are not clear. Red Chief Yesterday I watched "No country for old men". Modern western in Texas 1980s. Absolutely crazy film with ponds of blood, remind me Torontino and Rodrigez. It was main rival to 3:10 to Yuma and Assasination... in 2007 but IMHO it's better than Yuma. Real thriller. Especially I have pleasure from acting of Spaniard Javier Bardem in the role of main villan, real macho. It's his second role after V.C.B. but absolutely different. Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones were also good. P.S. Anyway, MCL, thank you for sharing inf. about "The bank job". Red Chief
In "Body of lies" Russel Crowe told DiCaprio:
"If youre not thinking about p@ssy, then youre just not concentrating enough." Speedhump :D :D :D Red Chief I have just seen "Gran Torino". Clint Eastwood is a director and a leading actor. An old man, Korean vet and retired automaker, is loking at how his neibourhood in Detroit fiils by Gooks with their youth's gangs and soldarity on one hand. On the other hand he lost contact with his son whose the only aim is grabbing father's house and rarity car Ford Grand Torini 1972 and send Dad to the retairment house. Very simple and touching film but the problem revealed in the film is very common for Western World. crazzycat Forest Gump it impressed me very much Misery Called Life District 9 To keep it simple this movie is legandry. Awsome stuff. Miss it at ur own peril! Misery Called Life The Proposal, Okk way to cheesy for my tastes! Misery Called Life If ur into fantasy movies like me than you have to watch Chronicals of Narnia- Price Caspian ( way better than the Harry Potter movies, and I'm a huge Potter fan so that's saying a lot) Night at the museum- Battle of the Smithsonian ( I enjoyed every second of this movie, thrice. And you'll absolutely fall for Amy Adams, she's so damn cute in this movie) san4os Hello! it interesting forum! The last movie I saw it was SAW 6!!! I like such movies! the last tv-show was "the prisoner"!!!! Parisienne I saw 'Taken' 8 days ago. This movie is simillar to 'Trade' when we talking about topic. Liam Neeson - amazing actor in 'Taken'. jacob2287 my last movie was "bourn ultimatem" :D Misery Called Life
I actually loved the movie. Jolie was Hot! And those war songs were so vulgar, I actually downloaded the whole script. :D melika969 "requiem for a dream" just saw it, so impressive movie but depressing... I can't take it out of my mind... Red Chief
Very in time for somebody who dreams about American passport. melika969 well RC, It's not like it is better in Iran :( but it was really great... Misery Called Life
The movie addressed the social issues rather well, but as far as the storyline goes why did it have to end so grim?
Movie itself was very watchable. Misery Called Life I Love You Man Light, fun filled caper. Had quite a few laugh out loud moments and throughout the length of the movie I had a smile on my face. catalyst 'Trade' very touching movie . Parisienne From my point of view movie '2012' is very tandenty. I hoped that the director would be vindicated after film 'The day after tomorrow'. Unfortunately for him it failed. Special effects in some moments were interesting, but plot generally pointless and embarrassing. Standard American cinema: pointless disaster with the pitiful ending. but it's only my opinion  WhiteJade
Hmmmm...
Well John Cusack is worth the ticket. Yanjin Big fish... melika969 I just saw Boewolf, A beautiful fantasy about warriors, well not a great movie, but I enjoyed it. Red Chief
I saw the movie a few days ago. Although idea is interesting, implementation is realy bad. There is no connection between caracters and inside action at all.
The role of Kidman is difficalt to call even "supportive". Her meet irritates because it is absolutely misplaced. Cruise was wooden as usual but the main issue is direction of course. It was awfull. melika969 and I watched "public enemies" right now. Now I love johnny depp even more than before... Red Chief I've seen "Enemy of the State" today with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. Heckman is realy good regardless his age. I have loved him from "Runaway Jury". Red Chief
Quite funny, especially the scene of the first meeting in the open house. Bora would be delighted. It's her favourite topic  alisonwhite Watch "Love Happens" recently. Good storyline but bad storytelling... Red Chief I've just seen "The Understudy". Rather interesting movie about how difficalt or probably impossible for definitely talented actress works in the World of Stars. I just remember another interesting movie "Tne Center of the World." Student, I think for some reason it would be interesting for you. Misery Called Life Hey RC, thanks for the recommendation. Will try to check it out. On the recommendation of another DF'er I watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona the other night. The nostalgia, the sync sounds, the spanish guitar and not to forget the charming rustic countryside of Barcelona, all made this movie as delightful as sweet red wine....one simply can't have enough! Apart from the stunning cinematography the story itself was delightful. Xavier was every bit perfect for the role as wes teh stunning Penelope Cruz. The two American tourists played by Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca hall blended in well too. All in all a delightful movie! melika969 ^^^yeah MCL, This movie kinda changed my life! Red Chief
Who it might be? He he. My recomendation wasn't enough.
melika969
RC is jealous again! ;) Red Chief Not realy. I think it was misunderstanding again because I look at my post and understand that my review on this movie was rather negative. Anyway I just wonder how the movie changed your life. Are there three people in your family like in Swede one? melika969 It gave me courage to do things that I was afraid of before. Red Chief
Is it the straightforward reply on my question about three people in your family? melika969
no, it is straighforward to your question how did it change my life. ;) Red Chief
He-he, darling, It could be "straightforward" in Farsi, Dari or Arab languages, but we use English here and in English it sounds rather evasively I must say. Misery Called Life As tempted as I am to sit out and watch ur conversation Melika and RC....it's a fascinating subject and Melika is being mysterious...RC say's evasive... I just wanted to say RC I just watched the trailer of Center of The World.. and I see it's yet another movie based on relationships. It's evident to me that ur fascinated by the complexities of relationships so I just wanted to ask are you by any chance are you a psychologist or are you interested in the subject? Personally thanks to my financial and economic leanings I prefer sociology! melika969 Well I like being mysterious MCL, and I didnt get RC's point honestly! hey there was another movie I watched recently, " The visitor", I pretty enjoyed it. I so could feel all the nostagy, does any of you guys watch that movie? Misery Called Life Wow Melika you have taste. Just checked out the visitor trailer...looks like a real nice movie! Going back to the chiefster...well when you say a movie essentially revolving around a menange a trois changes ur life, the Russian in him can't help but be excited and curious at the same time.... :D Red Chief
Not so easy, dude. You have to see the movie in a whole. It's nothing about Psychology but rather being virgin in the age of 25.
As for Sociology here is the lecture (33Mb) I was interested in recently:
Misery Called Life

You cheeky Russian!
well from what I gather it's also about being a whiz and a multi millionaire. I'll take that. :D Red Chief Yes. Story of your life, probably. area51events last movie, it's called 2012. just a another WOW movie, you have to see it on the big screen... greets: Claus Misery Called Life watched Little Miss Sunshine First reaction FU%$#@g B@s^%d what a worthless movie. Who the hell makes such crappy movies? They say this movie is a glimpse of realism in modern day America, where families are suicidal, cold, empty, drug addicted and well broke! The setup itself such a depressant, was not enough for the director. The depressants keep on compunding throughout the movie, with characters (except for Abigail) so retarded you just which you could smack them. All in all one of those depressing art house movies, do watch if your in the mood to feel low. I can't believe this movie got a 90% rating on rotten tomatoes. Give me GI Joe anyday! Parisienne "Mar adentro". film based on fact. Moving story about the problem of the euthanasia. Repeatedly I cried, even though it is hard to reduce me to tears.
