Alan Johnston, a BBC journalist has been abducted on March 12th this year by a group that calls itself 'Army of Islam'. He has been threatened and locked since then.

It will take you 30 seconds. Dubai Forum members, please sign the petition and pray for his release. He does not deserve this.

Nobody deserves it.

Signing a petition presumably won't free him though.

How do you know the "Army of Islam" isn't browsing the net looking for petitions that mention them?

On the contrary, it will do you harm.

Signing a petition isn't action... signing a petition is 'registering your disgust'. It is making you feel like you're doing something when in reality, the danger pesists.

Countless petitions and the environment is still getting worse.
Countless petitions and whales are stilling going to be extinct in 5 years.
Countless petitions and little girls are still missing.
Countless petitions and the US is still in IRAQ.
Countless petitions and people are still getting kidnapped and beheaded.

No harm? I think there's bucketloads of harm in thinking that 'action' is signing a petition.

And when you wake up one morning to find the world has changed, you will be "this can't be so... I signed a petition!"

Coward? It's more risky putting your name on a petition against UAE govenrment policies.
