I need to buy new laptops. Can anyone recommend a place in Dubai that is good value, but more importantly has a GOOD after sales service?

You will find that most places have standardized prices, except for the small-timers at Computer Plaza (also known as Al Ain Centre) and Computer Street in Bur Dubai. But then, their warranties might be dubious. The hypermarts just hand off the after-sales to Jumbo, etc depending on brand. Like I bought an Acer at Carrefour, but went for warranty work to Jumbo.

Prefer to pay more to be sure about the service.


My experience: Plug-Ins + Toshiba notebook + Panatech (service) = OK.

Computer Plaza (Al Ain center) is the good place to buy laptops. I have been purchasing many times from there. You get good offers there.

Remember, Their warrenty is mostly expire early since they purchase from distributors. You should be carfull about that.

Second good place is Jumbo which have nice collection and good prices as well.

Third option is Care four. They also have all ranges but prices are little high.

HP is giving good after sale warrenty.

during the DSF i was able to score an ACER 40GB 512 RAM and all for under $500 USD. best deal i have ever gotten and its what i am using now to make this post. wait till the summer when the locals flee the city/country. the best deals can be found then....i got mine from a burjuman mall kiosk.

For the specs on offer, that's quite expensive to be honest. 40 gigs and 512MB RAM will struggle to run Vista, let alone play games and work with video apps.
