Thing is mostg holidays here with the exception of a select few are based on Islamic holidays which are based on the Islamic calander. Therefore they do not allways coincide with the same day ever year.

Not sure why people simply do not google this information but here it goes...

For 2006:

http://www.journeymart.com/tools/countr ... irates.htm

Date 2006 Occasion
January 1 New Year's Day
January 10 Eid Al Adha
January 31 Islamic New Year
April 11 Prophet's Birthday
August 6 H.H. Sheikh Zayed's Accession Day
August 22 Ascension of the Prophet
October 24 Eid Al Fitr
December 2 National Day

FYI, this was GOOGLED!!!!

This holiday isnt celebrated anymore since he died. There is one in November now for Shaikh Khalifa.

The religious holidays can be a bit tricky here because they tend to be announced close to the day. Even though the Islamic calendar is a lunar one, the holidays don't always fall when one might expect. In fact, the exact dates of religious holidays (at least when viewed in terms of the Western calendar) can vary slightly from one Muslim country to another.
