Was just wondering whether anyone had suggestions of which ones are good? looking for a few days 'away from it all'....
Also, if anyone has information of how to go about getting the best rates (pls don't say 'google it'. lol) ... that would be great as well.

You dont need to go for google to find the info on hotels and restaurants,all the information can be viewed on yellow pages,hope this help you.

I went to Muscat last weekend and found the search for a decent hotel at a good price nightmarish - in fact, I totally failed and so ended up staying with a friend. He then recommended a hotel local to him - Quram Beach, I *think* - for the budget traveller. It's pretty basic, but clean and comfortable he says.
