Updates: In the morning before returning, I went to a car paint shop in Al Quoz 3 area for some urgent paint. As they know that it's urgent and my stupidity to inform that it's a rented car (probably they'd notice anyway from the rear window sticker), they charged 350 AED for full rear bumper paint ...

Well, just prepared the worst case (in case I couldn't get the car repainted). And I heard some car paint shops also ask for police report. Fortunately, the one I get didn't ask it.

I wouldn't worry too much. Just ask the company to pay as my current work agreement states only take home pay. Which ever the country and whatever the tax is, I always ask for net salary for a peace of my mind. The only thing that pissed me off is housing fee/tax. Who said Dubai is a free tax countr...

That's normal. Many companies would prefer not to spend extra cash on air tickets, and they even barely know the candidate well (only by phone interview). Many people dare and gamble themself to come on visit visa and search for job when reaching. Higher chances to get interviewed. Otherwise, if you...

Who said Dubai traffic is the worst?

Been here in Hyderabad (India) for two weeks for business trip and I must say that this is the worst traffic manner I've ever seen among several countries I've visitted or lived in. I'm really surprised ... no street manner at all! Everyone is rushing and doing zig zag, can't keep on the lane...

I'm sure there are other posts on this, so forgive me, but what are the alternatives to skype, which are unblocked here in UAE? Note: I'm not in a freezone area; so i need something unblocked by the Etisalat proxy. Thanks! Haven't tried to bypass Etisalat proxy, but I'm quite happy to have FREE PC-...

Re: Jakarta

I will be going to Jakarta (not Bali) in Indonesia. What's there to do and see, etc. How long you're going to stay there? Where will you stay exactly? What do you like to see/do? Sightseeing? Nightlife? Art/culture? Nature? Shopping? etc. In brief, Jakarta is like Dubai. Big modern city. Tall build...

Symantec/Norton is good, and probably the best, but I don't like that much as it sucks system memory/resource. Had no choice as it came (legally) with the laptop I'm using.

I'd be, as I work in DIC. We're all mature, why should we bother about blocking? KEEP IT AS IT IS!

There is no such best camera or best product. One would say X is the best, the other would say Y is the best. The only two things to consider are how much you can afford (budget) and what are your requirements/how do you want to use of it?

well, mall-hopping is one activity you could do . malls are smaller than what you find in Dubai. I'm sure you know how big Taman Anggrek mall is ;) For the length, I admit Ibn Battuta or MOE are lengthier. You can come here first under visit visa (e.g. sponsored by hotel you'll be staying) as most of people do. Search for jobs while you're in Dubai for duration of visit visa (max 2 months). However, this would cost you a lot (air ticket, accommodation).

Re: Dubai as a base for working in Baku?
