hi attau from what i can tell you...5000 would not be enough to go on at all...i have visited dubai...and if your food/living is not being taken care of...its very hard...rents here are astronomical...sure you can share with some one for very cheap...but after travel/food/utilities/entertainment...y...

and to add to that...other "aspects" you should ideally look at , in a "expat" contract...medical coverage by the employer...a ticket back home every year...adequate leave (UAE leave days are much more..i personally get 32 days)...depends on CO to Company...relocation allowance...a 2 week hotel stay...

my experiance when i was in dubai was its a very "attitude gets you in" policy...i agree couples makes sense...but the real spenders are the guys who are trying to get in , to party/have a grt time/hook up...agreed its such a broad spectrum to judge anything by...but from my exsperience in clubbing ...

introduce memberships...charge entry fees..create loyalty...of course girls night , doesnt make sense to have too many salivating single guys getting the run of things...as that runs the danger of only "too eager guys" and not a girl in sight...and get a DOOR manager to screen the entries...bouncers...

i would say its a game of luck and chance...i am indian...dont look indian at all(last time i was in dubai...everyone spoke to me in arabic..or thought i was spanish)...so yes...sadly speaking...no problems for me...but my mate from india came down to hong kong recently...works in MTV...is very well...

Bittorrent is gr8...but all depends on d/l speed doesnt it...if you only can d/l at 1 mb...then would take ages for you to d/l anything!!!...better still ...label all your pron CDs as pictures of NY...or hawaii...and bring it on your laptop...though you run the risk of watching re-runs...

agree with XRW-147...more specifics would be better...anyways on another note...if thats the total you are getting paid including housing...just remember housing in dubai is at least 50%-60% more expensive than singapore...the standard of housing is about the same...grt condos/semi D's is singapore ...
