Re: Dubai State of Affairs

Well come to think of it UAE bankruptcy laws are much much more lenient than any where else, simply because it does not have any. What you are referring to is the bounced cheque law. As far as I can remember in the late 80's or early 90's (???) there was a lot of fraud going on with regards to peop...

Re: Dubai State of Affairs

I agree the bounced cheque law sucks and they should look into this but when you say people were forced into wirting PDC's ? What there was a gun held to their heads ? I would never now or before give out a blank cheque. It was the publics own greed. Just gave out whatever the bank requested for in...

Must be difficult for you to admit that Sheikh Mohammed should be included in those who deny there are problems, .....see his quote above, it is crystal clear. I don't agree with your statement regarding HH Sheikh Mohammed, he admits that their are problems here, however he is also working to try a...

Re: Dubai Has Always Been Bankrupt -- Morally and Environmentall

Sage there is, I believe an extradition treaty is in place with the UK and the UAE, but there were only talks between the US and the UAE, nothing was finalized. Therefore, Herve cannot be extradicted to the UAE if found guilty. Extradiction also covers specific crimes, and if Herve is found guilty ...

Ok , to move in into a" productive" discussion here, it appears that the UK banks are pushing things around "including the use of their media" to push Dubai World into selling its assets which is worth "$ 100 billion" which Dubai world rejected to sell in such a market...

Re: Burj Dubai

Re-naming the Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa was a major show of respect towards the President of the UAE. I would expect nothing less from the DB's and EC's to have a go at this. You can all say what you want, this building is a major achievement in anyones book, and by the way, it made Emaar a lot of...

Re: The Doha Debates - Dubai a Bad Idea?

This is a useless debate, it s not going ot happen, period, it was a sarcastic joke. I'm not denying your escape but it isn't a big deal, not to a child really :D ! and it is even easier to sail from Oman to India than UAE to Oman…. Oman to India rough is barely controlled even when you get to the Indians small ports, I'm sorry but what you did has nothing brilliant about it ...
