Criminal who??

http://www.7days.ae/2006/06/27/robber-romeo.html Interesting, eh? The man gets caught for stealing his 'prostitute' girlfriend's passport from her sponsor's house, and the police arrest him. If it is illegal for a sponsor to keep an employee's passport, and if prostitution is illegal in the country,...

Hi, check this out for some listings with telephone numbers. http://guide.theemiratesnetwork.com/living/property.php For some R&R and a nice place to socialise, try http://www.the-club.com If you've already got a job here, would make sense to tell the company to help you with finding a place. Or...

Hi, best bet is to check with HSBC Insurance brokers. They will give you the best rate from among a number of good Insurance companies. Call them on 800-4560. You will only need to go there to sign and pick up the policy. Everything else can be done by phone/fax/email. Have used them, and they even ...

hey, i highly recommend the Mazda 3 and the Honda Civic. Absolute bang for buck.. I personally think the Corolla is a nice car but the guys that sell it are the snootiest bunch. I deal with AF Trd Ent for my Jeep and they can be quite snotty about that even. Go for the Civic, drive it well, get it s...

hey! Don't encourage Jeep by buying the Compass, PLEASE! Have no idea about the pricing, but would then recommend a Cherokee. It starts at 80k something or so, and is a great car. Had it for a year, and only sold it to get me a Wrangler. If you're stepping up to a 4x4, the Cherokee is a great option.

you can block these companies from sending you SMS again. Just send an SMS to 1011 mentioning the name or short-code you received the message from. These are third party companies, and not etisalat directly. For eg., if you receive a message from 2244 & u wanna block them, just type 'b 2244' and...

Hi, just some food for thought.. Todays papers are all screaming about how SZR is now a dream to drive on, and how Salik has actually made a difference to Dubai traffic. Also, Thursday was the last working day for a large number of schools, which every year means a 2 month period of slightly lighter...

Your company only needs some Govt document to keep. My policy has always been to let them keep my labour card, and I keep my passport. Tell your PRO/Admin that you want to take your passport, and will submit your labour card in its place. When you're done, you'll return passport and take back labour...

Hi, if you have an international licence, you can rent and drive a vehicle here provided you are on a visit visa. Driving a vehicle that is not a rental is an offence, but it is mostly the vehicle owner who bears the brunt.

I am quite sure you will find it cheaper in India. Dubai still survives on an age-old reputation of being a shopper's paradise. Its now a shop-keeper's paradise..

If you just want a good phone that works well, check the grey market phones in India. Will be cheaper than buying from main retailers.

hey, you already got a direct contact above, but apart from Musaffah, the one place I've seen in the city doing a decent job is in the Khalidiya gas station, the one just after the Jeep showroom. This is next to the oil change bay.

Why don't you announce a garage sale of your books through this forum and dubizzle? I'm sure you'll have some people interested in buying from you. Or if you don't really need to make money from the books, donate them to the Medecins Sans Frontieres (http://www.msfuae.ae). They have book fairs twice...
