If you're talking hotels, rates can be 3-4 times the normal rates. Eg Crown Plaza normall around AED450/night => AED1,400/night after Jan 20th.

Construction is booming here but that said you've obviously not looked into this very much at all. Honestly, in your line of work you're better off staying in the UK. You're not going to get paid much, as most are recruited from west asian countries. So unless you're willing to work for around 300 p...

I am an Indian. How much can I expect as my salary package in Dubai? I recently saw a news item in gulfnews online newspaper. It says 87% of the companies in Dubai are having less than 10 employees. What are my chances of a network/internetwork support job? Salary is more than India - thats a given...

Let me clarify my statement. I was neither implying whether the offer was too low or too high. A person's salary is somewhat driven by market forces, however, consideration must be given to qualification, experience, personal background, organization size, structure and culture... list goes on. Its ...

Considering the industry you're in it might be hard to get an expat posting here, as locally there are many indians that are good in support services and won't command such a high cost. If you're lucky you might be able to get a modified package - between local and expat package.

Not a prob mate. I haven't been here since 98 but from what I can piece together what the place looks like today is far from what it was even 3-5 years ago. However, even with all that change the mentality still remains. You're quite right in that the construction industry here tends to do a mass re...

Seriously, from what I know, scaffolders are only east asain, very poorly trained and managed. You may look at approaching construction companies to work as a scaffold supervisor/manager, but you might find it very hard, you have a lot of competition from East Asains who, I have to correct XRW here...

Our guys in Iran said its 6.1 quake. Some friends in NBD and Citibank said their buildings shook enough for management to call it quits for the day - not that they had long left to go anywayz.

I think you're meant to say "most appauling accounting software". Ones mentioned are for small business/private use and are good in the sense that it can be used by anyone without any formal accounting background but other than that its rubbish.

The same could very much be said in light of your contribution. Do you still club ur potential 'mate' over the head, sling them over ur shoulder and carry them back to your cave too?

Any roller dyno gives you ATW kw/hp. An engine dyno will only be able to give a calculated ATW figure.

And any 'tuning' shop tinkering with a tune without using a wideband might as well get set for a rebuild.

Lesser accidents on Autobahn cause even though people drive at warp speed they exercise due care, courtesy and caution. You don't see retards in a sunny/civic/echo/etc or big suburbans hogging the 'fast' lane proclaiming his/her ownership of the road.

Around that area you have Dubai Marina, Greens, Gardens, Meadows. Dependant on your budget and requirements. Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah are other options.

Ah, so basically after a power run. I know of a shop but it's in Sharjah. You need 2w or 4w dyno?

Are you comparing the charts to verify accuracy/consistency? If so you'd need similar spec wideband attached to the dyno to get apples - apples results.
