Big decision... Dubai or Sharjah?

I'm moving to Dubai in a few weeks time. Yay! In my first few days, though I'll be in a hotel for short time, I'll have to make a quick decision about where to look for my new home. So here's the thing - my new office is in Sharjah. If I choose to live in Dubai I'll be traveling against the traffic ...

Nice poll, well thought-out options. So Andyba, are you a researcher? Seem to have covered most bases there.

So, where do non-meat eaters eat out in Dubai/Sharjah?

Hey, thanks for all the advice. I arrived in the UAE last weekend, and I've chosen Sharjah. I've moved into my own place (1BHK, they call it - 1 bedroom with 'hall', meaning living room, and kitchen) just off Corniche Road, looking over the full length of Al Majaz Park and over the lagoon. It's ligh...

SUSHI! Ingredients and equipment...

I love making my own sushi. Are there good places to pick up rolling mats, ingredients such as nori, good short-grained rice and wasabi, and most importantly, fresh off the plane sashimi-quality Norwegian salmon? Also, if you know anyone who supplies the sushi restaurants, I'd be really pleased. htt...

1. It's a numbers game It's not a matter of your passport determining your salary. The salary (and other factors) dictate which types of people are willing to apply for, and ultimately accept, the job. Before applicants even start walking through the door, the job and the salary package exist, dete...

What exactly do you mean when you say 'by any means'? You've done the classes, now go do your driving test. What part is difficult to understand? If you can't pass the driving test, and rather choose to obtain your licence 'by any means', quite frankly I don't want you anywhere near me or my friends...

You'll likely face a lot less racism here then America Hehe, I don't think so. But I have to say that whatever racism might exist here is not really based on skin colour. Agreed. In fact, a black American with a degree would be pretty much near the top of the totem pole in the UAE business world. A...
