Can't say much about resale value. On one hand, it is a Honda, but on the other, it is a hatchback (which are unloved here). Some sort of 4-door sedan (like Civic) has better resale, but all in all, I'd say resale would be only slightly lower if you go with the Jazz. Thanks for the feedback. I was ...

Cool Pads for Laptops

Guys, what's the best cool pad for my 12.1 wide Lenovo (the aim is to use it on my lap, other surfaces I have no problem with)? I feel the ones with fans, USB wiring and such are just a tad too much, what do you think? Also, where can I get it (tried Jumbo and Compu Me) becuase Amazon say they can't...

it is a hatchback (which are unloved here)[\quote] Any ideas why? Sorry to hijack the thread, but I think that we have established which car to buy. Actually I am still struggling between the chep Jazz and the "maybe" affordable Octavia 1.8L but that's from another thread :) I think Hatch...

Yes, somewhat of a cultural thing. Nobody buys station wagons either but jump at the chance to buy a 4WD wagon. Hatches also appear somewhat girly. I find that many of them look like half a real car. gtmash, Since you're here :) I cannot believe the 1.8L TC Octavia is for under 70K; what's the catc...

AC

Is it true that the Japanese car air conditioners out perform any other make? Was talking to a friend and mentioned that I love the way that C4 Coupe looks like and his reply was that it’s not worth it because European air conditioners are a disaster in this country in the summer and that only the J...

not all....particular models from all makes have good ac. Jeep is amercian...cherokee has amazing ac. That makes sense; I cannot imagine any high end car having bad AC, plus there is such a thing as customizing a certain model for a certain market (Middle East). Anyone here rode a C4 in August and ...

Hmmm, I can't give you a general comment... But on my Mitsubishi (Evo IX), the air-con could probably give you frost-bite... Also I have heard the same statement about most Mitsu-Cars and many other japanese cars... Still, I don't think it's worth choosing your car mainly based on ac... What ...

Dry Cleaners/Laundromat in Mirdif

Anyone know of a place that offers ironing services at a reasonable price in the Mirdif area?

Butler's are simply ridiculous at AED5 per shirt (just ironing). Your input is much appreciated.

Re: Solo or Bunch in Dubai?

--- snip --- What about you guys? Solo, permanent (at least for now). But company provides airfare home once per year. Alternatively, I apply for overseas courses (eg 5 days) in my hometown (or whichever country), so get to have company-sponsored training plus trip home, all expenses paid, to catch...

I am coming solo as well. From my couple of trips to Dubai, it seems like its a place full of couples. I don't know how the single scene is. Even when I've been out, all I see are couples! Neil I totally agree! and it's even more so where I live; NOTHING but large British, American or Lebanese fami...

Good for you Thanks man, I had a good teacher from Belhasa which turned out to be priceless. I think the main reason why people fail so many times is that thier instructors don't give a damn about teaching them properly or there's perhaps a language barrier. Anyways, I got an okay raise this year s...

If this is to be the first car you own here since passing your test, I'd go for an old Corolla to last you through your first six months. There is an old saying that you don't learn to drive until AFTER you have your licence and with the way it is with traffic, general road conditions, and particul...

I guess BMW still haven't brought over the Mini One. They did say they will bring it over later. Beware of the Mazda dealership in Dubai. Very incompetent people. I've heard that about Galadari once but they're offering three years free maintenance (parts & labor included) plus for the 1st 4-5 ...

It all depends on your instructor. Last Thursday, I've seen people flunk for the 4th and 5th time and they're all Belhasa students.

Dubai Properties - Mirdif

Guys,

Any idea about the new project (villas - Dubai Properties) being built next to Uptown Mirdif?

There's nothing on it anywhere online, not even the DP website!

I was struggling between the Mazda3 and the Jazz, I ended up getting the M3 because it's a little bit faster (regardless of what the 'preformance times' are) and it's a little bit bigger.. Although the Jazz is rated the #1 small car atm in Europe and is constantly ranked #1 on many different sites ...
