It's not just p<3n that is restricted - unless you consider expatriates.com to be heading that way?!?! Does anyone know why the stuff through Sahm (now DIC) is not censored? Just curious.... By the way SkierAl, don't rely on the internet at work - you can use it, but the connection is really slow an...

My work hold my passport and I am not happy about it! I am trying to summon up enough energy to argue about it - has anyone got any legal info on this that I can use as back up?

I have an Orion water dispenser. It cost 219 AED, bought from a hypermarket (so a one-off purchase). I buy my water through Oasis for 6AED per container - they are a standard size worldwide I believe. That price includes delivery. There is a deposit of 25AED per container, refundable.

Agree on the fine line that Chocaholic's mentioned...you can't be too laid back or the girl will not be sure that you're even interested - but if you're too eager that's offputting too. I am a personal fan of the thank you text/email the day after your first date - shows you are interested and is al...

It depends on a lot of factors like where you buy it from, but to give you an indication, prices for 6X1.5l bottles from the supermarket start at around the 5AED mark for brands like Alpha and Orion and go up from there...

Sniper's date ideas are good, just maybe a little too full on for a first date. Not sure about the salsa though - you'd really have to make sure she was comfortable with dancing and you were damn good at it or it could be a disaster....

Turn ons: Muscly arms, classy tatoos (something better than 'HATE' tattooed across the knuckles), those kind of scruffy shaggy short haircuts, broad shoulders, that little bit of facial hair just below the lips in the middle (what is that called anyway???), good dancing (or even willingness to dance...

Are there any indoor climbing centres?
How about bungy jumping?
Canyoning centre?
Ocean kayaking tours?

That's what I'd like to see more of!

I thought it was interesting too and I'm reading one of his other ones now. They are very John Grisham - ie, page turners, but not necessarily spectacular from a literary point of view.

You need a residence permit to get a license, but apart from that it's easy - costs somewhere around 120Dhs. You don't, however, need a license to go to the holes in the wall which seems to me to be what most people do!

Baby food

I've been living in Japan - never saw any tinned babies at the local supermarket. Definitely a myth. Do you not think human rights organisations would have gone spare if it was true???

I'm working through Eid too :(

Buddha Bar is okay. Very trendy and overpriced, but worth going at least once.
