In Dubai, is it a norm giving tips in restaurants, eg 5dhs tips after a 100dhs meal ? In Spinneys, the cashier is supposed to give me a change of 5.25dhs, but he give me 5dhs instead. i guess i came to dubai on the tail end of comfort... when i got here, about three years ago, there was still a 12T studio flat in baraha. now even in baraha you wouldn't be able find such a price! rooms that rented for 1,500 were whole rooms - now all i see in the clasifieds are partitions - duh. b...
