hi guys,

will be moving to dubai in april with family and are looking to rent a 1 bedroom appt, i know all the areas i would like to live, marina, the greens end of town. are there any i should stay clear of??

also are there time constraints on rental contracts? i will probably look to buy as soon as possible but i'm not sure what order the properties are coming online.

any help would be appriciated

You'll be tied in for a year rental. Anywhere in Greens and Marina is fine. There is an oversupply of flats at the moment so a) negotiate the price, and b) don't buy, the market will go down in the next few years.
