In Sharjah, Gardeners Can No Longer Stare at Women!!!??? May 10, 2010
How to stop gardeners from staring at women in a public park??

Easy!!! You shut the whole park down.

That’s the official reasoning given by the Sharjah Municipality for shutting down all public parks every morning until 4 PM. Parks will only be open from 4 PM to 10 PM.

How crazy is that???

thats wrong.
they should provide hookers to the gardeners instead to easy the tension.

in iran they close the parks on religious holidays to stop people having fun when they are supposed to be mourning.

Backwards thinking once again, so because MEN can't control themselves, everyone else getes penalized for it. Why not make the gardeners work unsociable hours instead? Early monrings and late nights - Duh obvious really.

What are they going to do about those men who stare at women in the malls or on the beach??

Close down all malls and beaches, or stop women from entering the malls or sitting on the beach!!!

Or go around and fine those who stare on the spot!!! :D :D

They did no go back to the stone age..... they never left it, never will. Same in Dubai, after it was known that I disguised with an abaya for my escape, a group of Emirati women petitioned to Dubai Municipality citing my name and example, to request that a female officer at women only private beaches, checks women in abaya at the entry, to make sure there was not a peeping guy hiding under.

He-he Tom,

Only insane woman can go to Al Mamzar on Friday or Saturday for instance. You could ask why? It's because at that time this beach is full of horny laborers. In addition, 5 years ago Sharjah hotels started banning bachelors from paid entrance to the beach due to constant complaints from female tourists.

Reasonable segregation is realy necessary instead of closing.

I read an article courtesy GN, bout proposed segregation in cabs apparently cause the extremely "modest" women in Dubai, felt outraged at having to make contact with the drivers whilst collecting change.

I would support - a driver should monitor the road ahead constantly but ladie's knees distract the attention. 8)
It's safety reason.

Segregation????

You mean make the parks designate women-only days??? And in those days, no gardeners can come in??

What about families?

Instead, why don't they just import female gardeners???

The women will then feel comfortable and the men will not mind!!!

This way, parks can remain open all day, for everyone!!!

Or make sure all the gardeners in Dubai do it 'uphill'...then they won't stare at the women at all!

Unless they are jealous of their shade of eye liner!

Nah i think ill pass...

As a last resort I think a good solution would be to neuter the gardeners as soon as they arrive, just like the cats in my neighborhood...besides its not like society considers them to be humans anyways..

The Sharjah Municipality has reversed its earlier decision, and parks will now be open to the public in the morning.

The new timings will be from 8am to 1pm and from 4pm to 10pm. There will be no gardeners in the morning, and all the maintenance and cleaning will take place from 1 to 3pm.

No more bird watching for the desperate gardeners!!!!!

But why 8 AM?? It should be open from at least 6 AM for joggers and early morning walkers!!
