I'd like to add that I also have some Russian friends who are nice people.

And to answer the question: when i hear Russia i think of a great classic literature, ballet, music, Chaikovsky, great monuments, marvelous St Petersbourg, slavic soul... i think that Russian nation is a great one.

Well if you live in Cyprus then I bet you have many Russian friends

Lots of Russians live there or go there on holidays... Lived in Cyprus for a year and a half and I remember some streets with shops just for them: signs in Russian, selling fur in the middle of the summer

I've recently visited Singapore and I've met a lot of Russians there! Mostly for shoping.
Than I went to Lankqawi, Pelangi Beach Resort and they were also there.
I spent some time with those people, very friendly, great fun, yes, from the beginning a bit reserved, but when you know them better, they are the best! :!:

Waa?! I've been here nearly a year and I'm not sure if I've met any Russians.

I'll just go back into my cave.

And if it isn't too late for word associations, my picks are:
- Su-27
- caviar
- Boris Yeltsin
- Vladivostok
- Sputnik
- KGB
- Maria Sharapova (is she still Russian?)

i have met one russian, in jockeys club, she was attracted to the cash in my wallet. she looked wired on drugs or something.

also, in another bar, somewhere, i dont know where, it was a posh place in a hotel, there were 2 russians working there, and the guy i was with wanted them to smile, but they wouldnt. i think his attitude offended them tho (loudmouth yank)

as we left, i got smiles and "thank you's" so i caught a glipse of a smile, and they look much nicer when they smile, almost human!
