Face Card??? May 13, 2006
Hi people...

in many advertisings (club nights for example) it says "Face card holder discount". What the hell is a face card?
I could not find any information on google or with the forum search here.

Cheers,
Ben

Thats a bit unfair!!
Why should us non-cabin crew be discriminated against in such a way??
Grrrr - add this to the "pet-peeves" list!!

All cabin crew have a 'face card' but when you hear or see the discount offers it is applicable to only "Emirates Face Card holders".

How is it unfair Z? Every job has it's perks and this is a perk of working for Emirates.

Pretty much every night matey but the catch is most the places they like to go to enforce a couples only policy. They also get free entry into places like Trilogy - personally prefer this place as well as Zinc. Went to Apartments last weekend and that was boresville.

I havent checked out Zinc yet, but am a regular at Trilogy, its a lot of fun !

For some reason X I dont think the 'couples' policy works too well as pretty much everywhere you go there are hundreds of men, with ladies in short supply.

someone should have pre-warned me about the m/f ratio before i came out ! lol

Zinc's alright but I heard it was suppose to close down for renovations but its doors are still open.

If you're a vip, or get your name on the guest list, or know the bouncer, or know the dj spinning the couples policy goes out the window.

Double D has a nice a atmosphere but can't say much about choice of music.

X - I'll revise my thinking on this, bearing in mind how good looking the Emirates crew are - they should be given discounts, and also alerts us non-emirates crew on when and where they might be hanging out!!
Not that I'm a stalker or anything!!

Nice flip Z. Although Emirates hasn't really been known to hire based purely on looks. If you're talking Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, or Japan Airlines now these are as plastic as they come. Criteria - leave your iq at the door.

Which I have absolutely no problem with X !!
Actually, I have to say that when I went with Emirates a few weeks ago, I was a little disappointed with one of the air crew - it was a guy!! Disgraceful!! I mean, its a good job they had this new video-on-demand, or I'd have had nothing to look at and keep me amused during the flight!!

He didn't try to take his trousers off whilst having his swimming trunks over the top of them, did he (a Mr Bean party piece, if you've not seen him do that before?).
