my understanding is this:

on Emirates road (311) it starts flashing at 140, on SZR (11) before the 3rd interchange 120, after 140 and AD boarder 160. A good portion of the radars don't work though in the city.

Drive safe though.

Be warned, radars in Jumeira, where the speed limit is 80kpr, the radar flashes over 85kpr.

Actually the posted speed limit is not indicative of the "actual" limit as per Fayz's previous post.

Thanks to Fayz, I was able to ignore the posted limits since my first days as a Dubai driver :D

Thanks buddy!!! hehehehe....

Fayz, I'm going to have to have a chat with you about your driving habits.

You are a flamer. It is shameful. Not once did I attack you in this thread and yet you still take every opportunity to flame.

Sad... So sad.

Looked more like a mocking face. Considering our "interactions" in the past, my reaction was out out of the ordinary.

However for the interests for humor, I accept your joke and laugh along.

actually all of those portable black multinovas are set at 81 as well when set on secondary roads, the ones in cars though seem to be more forgiving and are set at 101kph from what i've been able to gather.

Speed limits are set for a reason. Speed kills people which ever way you look at it, you're a moron if you go racing down the roads.

You know the truth is these cameras are not a deterrent for most of them, you can spot them a good distance away. Increases in fines don’t seem to work either, I was reading the comments from 7 days and one comment was about a guy who budgets 1500/month for tickets.

Speed in itself doesn’t kill but sure as heck increases damage and loss of life when combined with idiocy. I hope black points are implemented and they are given for things like unsafe lane changes, tailgating, driving cars without headlights, taillights, brake lights, etc.

Maybe it is the CDN in me talking but I’m also a big fan of daytime running lights, I think this should be implemented worldwide, in Canada when it was done in 1991 there was a statistical drop in number of fatalities and in a place where a good portion of people tint windows and driving speeds are high making cars a little more visable is not a bad thing.

Oh I read somewhere that the Dubai gov generates AED 1million/day in fines but not sure how reliable the source was.

Juts place you're mobile phone next to the radio and make sure that both are on.

Coming close to a radar, you will hear a buzz, as if you are recieving a phone call.....

It works for me
