What song do you listen to right now?

S&G LoL, they inspired me to pick up guitar playing. Don't how it is where you from shaf, but in Holland 'mellow' is used when you are under the influence of weed. People might think the wrong thing. Just saying.

The music and the voice of the Justin is phenomenal !! Every single song is memorable & unique. I can't stop playing it. If you forgot how good this American singer could be, pick this up.

Not a happy song or occasion. This week a bus crashed, 22 Belgium/Dutch children died coming back from a ski trip. Yesterday, I witnessed a remembrance service by chance (didn't plan to, but when walking outside I stood there for a while). It was said, when a child dies, 's/he becomes a bright star high up in the sky.

Can't beat a good rendition of Elgar - always brings to mind the last night at the proms and the flag waving etc.! Excellent stuff - rousing stuff for us Brits. 😉

Disney's take on it is excellent too (from Fantasia 2000):

^Ah, one of my dad's favourites! I remember him going on about the goons... but wasn't Michael Bentine also one of them too?

A bit before my time though - but I'm not a grandfather yet! 😉

Here's something more modern also from the UK

I'm sure it won't be long, the way you lot breed 😀

You really need to brush up on our traditions if you want to pass the Britishness test Shafique

Never heard of it! That sort of stuff is only played on the Asian Network or Punjabi FM, neither of which I tune in to, neither do any of my friends, either, we stick to Radio I and 2 and Five Live. Here's something mainstream from Lily Allen. Her dad's famous too! He had a staring role in a recent BBC adaptation of Robin of Sherlock. Run and ask your daddy about Robin Hood, Shafique!

At first when I see you cry,
yeah it makes me smile, yeah it makes my smile
At worst I feel bad for a while,
but then I just smile I go ahead and smile

I suggest you look up who the founding members of the Goon show were. You've failed the Britishness test BM - shame on you. 😉 Funny that you're failing in a thread about music! 🙂 😀

I do like Lily Allen though - and her dad Keith (and yes, we enjoyed him as the Sheriff in Robin Hood, which also had a Muslim lady outlaw - Djaq! - that must have annoyed you!! ). Keith Allen also wrote the following (famous for John Barnes awful rap! ):

ingerland, eng -er -land, ingerland! 😀 😀

I'm not the one who had to ask my dad 😀

Shame on you for putting that youtube with John Terry on the front screen 😮
Maybe you haven't heard through the jungle drums that he's in Court later this year for racial abuse? I have to say I think he's rather an attractive man so I can see where you're coming from 😛
In the words of the mighty Shafique....epic fail on your part

No, you're the one that accused me of not knowing who were in the Goons. At least I paid attention to what my dad said to me - you were there! 🙂

As for imagining that New Order's song by Keith Allen is an 'epic failure' - that's just too funny. 😀

Big weddings - that's something we British Asians have in common with the Royal family - nice of you to highlight this. (Although the British Gypsies also have big fat weddings ... 😮 ) 😀 😀

But, never mind grandma, you're due a win shortly.. in the mean time, here's a classic played live:

I accused you of not knowing who the Goons were? Did I really? I'll have to go back and check my post. I thought it was you who asked me!

You failure was puting John Terry up 😀 What was it he is alleged to have said? :blackeye:

But, never mind grandma, you're due a win shortly..

Jeez, thanks Fatboy, I'll keep trying!
