The Queen or Sheikh Mo

nathooarif

Spent this afternoon in a debate with a friend, and the only solution is this board......

who is it...... who deserves the big up????

Who's existence do we appreciate?

The Queen or Sheikh Mohammed ?

answers on a postcard...... or even on this post 🙂

Saw Sheikh Mo at the Dubai Career Fair. He is much more attractive than the Queen.

Oooo. Controversial. Well. Personally I don't like the UK and some of the things that it stands for. So I'm gonna have to go for Sheikh Mohammed.

Ross 😀

Guys,

Q.E or S.M ?

Well I'll have to be Patriotic and say Her Majesty. She's been on the throne for a very long time and has seen her country change in massive ways.

WTF has the Queen done? Ever?

nathooarif

well... ummmm, we have the Speech on christmas day.... 😂

look4thebest

She helped generate £14 Billion pounds of toursim revenue (not all her though) for the UK last year. I also heard she was putting into place plans to build a giant crown shaped artificial island in the English channel

Sheik Mo for his vision and being a good guy from what I have heard and f course looking cool in his beige dish dash.

Queen Liz for being in such a position for so long and toughing it out. She was the ruling monarch during second world war and had to keep churchill in line and sit down and contemplate the country being invaded and over turned by Nazi germany.

She still the official Head of State in Aus.?

Mind you my hero is Sheikh Moh.

My hero is Rocky Balboa... he can still fight after all these years

She was coronated in 1953 I think, certainly after the war.

Both great in different ways, though the vision of the local ruler is easy to say as when you have that much money you can make anything a reality. That said, his role is so much more hands on than that of the Queen so you can't compare directly.

That's a very debatable topic, and I mean from the 'official' standpoint, not the snooty one.

Mind you my hero is Sheikh Moh.

He's certainly done more than the Queen ever has.

Ugh huh, like getting a summons over the use of child jockeys 😉

THEY WERE SHORT MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LoL

At the end of the day Elizabeth II was born into royalty, it was/is her duty to rule her country with the aid of her government. She's seen highs and lows, had times when the public have absolutely hated her, but she's come through it with dignity and pride.

THE_COVENANT

Now who is this moron blowing the queens trumpet? If you think shes done so much for you, you should be back in UK not in Dubai 😂

Chocoholic

She has her faults, but who doesn't, I'm just merely pointing out that she's been around along time and has been throughout alot. That's hardly blowing a trumpet.

Shk Mo is great for the things that he has done, and the visions he has for his country. However like all things/people there are good and bad aspects.

They both have their assets and their faults.

It's comparing Apples with Oranges.

Sheikh Mo has done so much for the vision of Dubai and every day pushes his vision and initiatives further and further. He is duty bound to his people to do this, and for the future of Dubai. If he doesn't.... who will?

England has a parliament run by the people (mostly). The Queen is nothing but a powerless figurehead that rather than pushing the country forward, keeps it anchored in the past.

No contest really.

Yes the Queen has been through a lot, but I'm sure she's had a much better life than 99% of the rest of the people on this planet... and what has she done to achieve this... nothing.

Well said Ian - totally agree with your last post.

I don't have strong feelings either way for my monarch, QEII - but she is where she is out of an accident of birth, her uncle's desire to marry Mrs Simpson and her forefather's luck at being at the right place and the right time. She is a product of her upbringing and has comported herself very well.

I just wonder how the two in question would have acted if they found themselves ruling the other country. I feel that the Sheikh would come out better - so my vote (despite the apple/pears thing) goes to SM.

Cheers,
Shafique
