Hey guys, this is my first day at Dubai forums so thought of introducing myself to get better aquainted with members here.
I'm an architecture student here in Dubai (hence the subject :) ) and would like to get to know other students or people related to the architecture industry here or abroad. Other than that, interests include reading and painting.

Hi Vicky, welcome.
I know nothing about architecture except that some of it here is quite unfortunate! They do seem to be making an effort to build along more traditional Arabic lines in some places which is nice to see, one of two of the new developments of apartments seem to be quite striking. Did you read about the plans to make a building in the shape of an iPod, and also one in the shape of an Emirati man standing in his white national dress? There have been some bad ideas for sure...most of them thankfully shelved due to the collapse of the property market here :)
