Hello,
My Wife & I were offered teaching position for the Universal American School in Dubai. We will arrive in Dubai sometime in August of 2008.
If anyone is familar with the school, we are interested in reading your thoughts,... especially current teachers at the school.
We do have many questions about living in Dubai... so you will be hearing from us in the near future.

This might help...
UAS probably one of the better schools in Dubai. Festival City not a bad place to wander around. Hopefully they give you accomodation in the vicinity although Business Bay bridge is not as choked up with traffic as other places.

The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and will offer the IB. So it definitely is one of the better schools, you should be fine.

I really hope so,... I have been reading a lot of negative & positive comments from teachers who taught in ESOL schools. They go from one extreme to the next. If it is somewhere in the middle its a far cry from where I am at now. LOL
