As you may have read on some previous messages from myself, I'm moving to Dubai in Jan 2009!!
Can anyone advise the best course of action for a mobile phone in Dubai? Are the mechanics similar to the UK whereby your fixed to a 12mth contract at a set proce with certian minutes and text messages included?

nopes, nothing like that...
no contracts., its prepaid or postpaid
more like using an unlocked mobile with the preferred network carriage....
