Hi all!
I've been a silent observer for months on this forum and really enjoy it - I feel I know you guys already! I thought I'd better introduce myself and do something about my new years resolutions (get a new job in Dubai!).
I'm currently living in the UK working in Telecoms as a Project manager in civil construction. I've worked in Dubai and AD before for a year or so around 10 years ago - I can't wait to see how much its changed.
I was working for a big construction company who built the Sheiks airport at ADIA and then I worked on the Za'abeel interchange near the Karama that joins Umm Hurair Rd, Al Qataiyat Rd and the SZH East of the WTC (apologies if these are spelt wrong - it has been 10yrs like I say).
If I get a chance I'll upload some photos I took of the place from a heli over Dubai from 1996 (they're in the old, pre digital paper format so I'll need to find a scanner) Could be interesting to see just how much its changed!
Anyhow, Hi to all, I'll be posting my CV in the professional bit soonish - on the lookout for Project manager roles in Construction or Telecoms - if anyone knows any straight off (I'm sure there must be some construction people on here - you've got most of the worlds tower cranes and I heard there was a couple of buildings going up... :shock: )
Great forum btw - keeps me entertained whilst its lashing down outside and the whole of the UK feels like its flooding. Not to rub it in of course but we do get a lot of that wet stuff from above - it makes all the green stuff (we call it "trees" and "grass" :lol: ) grow. Anyone of you sunlovers remember that stuff in the sandylands? :wink:
