Hello All,
As I’m posting here I’m sure you’ve all guessed I’m a new member.
A spur of the moment decision has found me accepting a job in Dubai and I move my life out on the 9th of April.
When I was in Dubai earlier in the month on business, I met some really nice people all of whom have been very helpful with advice etc so I’m sure everyone here will be equally as forthcoming with their knowledge. (Have been told in Dubai it’s who and not what you know so fortunately for me I’m a good networker) I promise to try and read the forum first before asking the same questions which have been asked a million times before!
Have a friend who is generously letting me stay at his when I first arrive but am hoping to have found my own place within a week of arriving. If anyone has / knows of a room etc in Jumeirah, Greens, Marina areas for a western male professional working in the media please let me know. (Hoping for around 5000-6000 AED per month though can pay more if that’s unrealistic. Have money for deposits, 3 months in advance etc whatever is needed (just need to work out how to get it from the UK))
Oh, any advice on banking would be a great help too!

your best bet for hunting down a place would be gulf news and check the accomodation thread if u already havent. is another option you have but it has a kinda small listing. all the best, i am hunting for a place myself and man its difficult :lol:
