I've just been going through some of the threads here and this place looks interesting.
I'm an Emirati currently studying in Ireland. I just set up my own forums themed around culture and lifestyle where people of different cultures can talk about their clothes, movies, food, religion, traditions.. etc or just about life where they are or are from.
Dubai itself is a mix of people from all cultures, and I'd be happy to have "an assortment" :p of people to answer questions about their countries or rectify common stereotypes.
Sorry if the administration doesn't allow site advertisement.. forgive me, I'm new :)

I'm new too. Looks like an excellent resource. But I can't seem to find any detailed information on hotel recommendations. I will be in town on the 15th and 16th and need to secure a hotel. I'd like something centrally located, near the beach, high speed internet, under 700 dirhams.
