Name's Nick (short for Nicolas) and I am from Beirut, Lebanon.
Came to Dubai a month ago and I'll be here for a while... I am an ERP consultant which basically means that I spend my days negotiating with customers, analyze their business, the structure of their company and provide them with solutions on how to optimize their work. Sure this job might be pretty neat when you're dealing with customers in a particular field. For example one of my cutomers in Beirut was Middle East Luxury Group... They have Fashion TV Arabia. I don't think I need to add anything to that... But on another hand you get some customers who are a little less "interesting". Right now I am in the middle of the industrial zone (basically a desert) of Doha, Qatar, in a...cement factory :x No comment.
Anyway, except for the insane traffic I really love Dubai. Sure some might label it as "artificial" and "expensive". Well personally this doesn't affect me much. I am lucky enough to be in a company that pays for almost all my expenses (housing, car, phone...) and as long as the nightlife is great, I am not complaining :twisted:
So far I've been to ChoCho's in the Dubai Marina, Peppermint ( 8) 8) ), C-Bar and Buddha Bar. I also spend most of my time at the Irish Village which is right next to my apartment. Pretty fun and it's the perfect place to drink a pint of beer and meet ppl.
Damn just writing this made me even realize how bad I want to go back to Dubai! I've been in this %R$@ cement factory for 2 weeks now!! But it's all going to end on Monday night :o My flat mates have already been warned. I want it all. Red carpet. Booze. Delivery from Chilli's. Get the jacuzzi on the roof ready. Um right, did I mention we have a swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna in the building? :P
