I've been reading this forum for a while now and it's excellent! Thanks to everybody for contributing. I know that all of your wisdom will help me in my move in June.

That will be a nice change from the constant rain in brussels :)
I'll be travelling back to Europe every 4 weeks for a long weekend so I'll hopefully get anough opportunities to dry my lungs again.
I was in Dubai in early May and got a decent cold after 4 days because of a/c - so I'll bring my Kleenex.

Yeah the taxis can be complete pants and the airport ones charge a standard fee as soon as you get in them that's twice the price of the ordinary ones!
Make sure you have small bags as there is not a lot of room in the cockpit of my X Wing Space fighter...I'll get Artoo to move up a bit so we can get your bootie in the boot!

Alexandra - awww, well I'm not in Dubai yet either, so you're not alone! Hopefully will be there soon (as I'm getting really sick of England!!).
And as for the taxis - well, when I was there the other week, I had to direct the taxi driver to my hotel - and I'd only been there 2 days - he'd been there for 5 years (so he claimed!!).
