Hi,
I moved to Dubai about 5 weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it (apart from that annoying "work" thing that I have to do 5 days a week)!
I've come from the UK and I could do with a bit of advice about how to get settled in, make new friends etc. Where are the best places to go to meet people? What activities should I try?
Here are a few things that I'd like to do:
1) Scuba diving
2) Camping in the dessert
3) Walking/hiking
4) Actually meeting some Emiratis as well as fellow expats.
Any advice?

For Scuba diving use the Al Boon school in Dubai, a couple of us are just about to sign-up and do our Open Water Paddy course...I don't know the ins and outs as someone has arranged it...
For meeting people in Dubai...join and the Dubai/UAE network..i've also met a few people on this site who have turned to out to be very cool friends.
I have also only been here a four months..it takes a few months to settle in and meet people...but all fun and games when you do.
