Thanks Arnie - you saved me from starting a new thread!
Everything is packed and we are being picked up tomorrow morning by Emirates.... all the other preparations have gone smoothly - better than expected actually, with a person coming to see the house today and moving in tomorrow afternoon!
I won't be taking my work phone or e-mail, but my personal e-mail is following me to Dubai, and you can always pm me here (we'll have wireless access at the hotel in Dubai).
Arnie - have a good trip back yourself, we're probably going to pass each other en-route!
Everyone else... we'll hopefully see you all soon in the sunshine (it was snowing again today.. brrh).

Hi All,
We have finally made it here - Alhamdollilah.
I've posted a little about our journey on my blogspot ..
Don't have internet connection in our appartment (which is very spacious and tasteful), and we are gradually getting over the jetlag. Today we are feeling the after-effects of a very spicy indian meal we had in Karama last night.
Tonight we go out for dinner with my new boss and then tomorrow it is work!
Haven't really had time to orient ourselves yet - just went to the mosque for Friday prayers yesterday and out a little in the evening. We intended to ring up some schools and visit, but decided to relax in the appartment.
Apologies for missing the meet, but promise to be at the next one!
