I arrived in Dubai 2 weeks ago...
I didn't get the time to visit all around, because I usually walk to visit, but here, you're obliged to take a taxi in order not to be cooked!
And with the taxi you find...traffic jam! lol
I used to ride bikes in my spare time with my friends...then here everything is different...

Be positive my friend. Then it'll all come together. Keep it positive.
When you're not opening up for other cultures, it remains bored. Give it another go and loosen up a bit more.

'real' friends are very hard to find.
I for instance, have never met them before. Been disappointed several times.
So, 'real' friends... don't expect to find them in Dubai. If you don't expect to much, the outcome will be more positive for you.

I made many great friends in Dubai and I miss them very much. Am not bonding as well with people where I live now, perhaps because I feel it might be temporary and don't let myself get close to people again. I'm sure I'll leave this place too with a few great friends, it just takes time and the right combo of personalities. My advice is to just hang in there!
