Hi Everyone, I am new in this site. I found it very friendly and wonderful tool for people who just move to Dubai. I am from Orange County California I just move to Dubai little over 6 months and I find this place very interesting. I hope to met new friends here, I am home sick but I know when I settled down I will get use to it of course with new friends.

Shame you missed last weeks meet - would have been a good chance to meet and make friends with lots of people in Dubai. I'm sure like Arnie says, there will be many more in the future (and hopefully I'll be in Dubai by then too!).

The Meridian has a great seafood buffett tuesday nights i believe check it out. If i remember correctly its 250Dhs. If you want something cheaper try Simach in Jumeirah Beach center.

Yup the one by the airport the name of the restuarant is Yalumba.

I did a 3 month internship in OC when I did my grad studies in Los Angeles. Really nice place but for a single guy it wasn't really the place to be. Near my workplace you could only find big houses with gardens, swimming pools etc. Basically the ideal place to live in if you have a family. But yeah it definitely beats living in L.A...

Typical Californian big houses even though there is only 2 people in the house, its a signature that OC is used to, the bigger the quiter living the better, bigger back yard with 50 Feet palm trees, lap pool to walk naked in the evening without any disturbance the better., but hey, after all its the same thing as buying rolex watch.
