Hi there,
first of all I feel like a loser with my subject heading. Let me explain. I am a Canadian, as is my husband and we moved here 11 days ago for his job with Emirates Airlines. I dont have any female friends here in Dubai, and I am sure there must be someone else in the same boat. I've never turned to the internet for friendship because I've always had lots of friends near me and I don't really like chatting online (my fingers start to hurt). ha ha
I am 26 years old and I just need to start getting out. I am really down to earth and easy to get along with. I am originally from Montreal, Quebec and I speak french as well.
I enjoy going for coffee, exercising, going to the beach, shopping, movies, going to bars etc.. I am currently looking for employment as well so I guess that keeps me busy part of the time
it's so strange to be placing a personal ad for a friend but I think that I will definitly start going crazy if I don't.
SO if anyone thinks that maybe they're in the same boat and could use a friend too, please email me:
Please no crazies or creepy men.

Oh and just a piece of advice, remove your email address from your post... Safer and you can still use Private Messages to communicate with members and exchange personal information without making it public

Hi! and welcome to DF as well Dubai.
So you speak french.....perhaps you could help me out. I learned the language growing up, but never really had the chance to speak it so much, so unfortunately, my french is ok -- but not great.
But welcome, and im sure youll make loads of friends in no time :wink:

And bushra, it seems that Nick is probably a more suitable french practice partner ;)
I grew up in a french town with french all around me and I did some schooling in french, but my parents spoke only english to me! They both speak french as well. It's hard to explain. I can hold my own if you wanted to practice sometime for sure!

Am not crazy or a creepy guy .... but yes ... am new to Dubai too and I think this is one of the best ways to find some like minded freinds.
I moved in about month and half back from London. Still travel loads cause of work but my stay in Dubai gets boring without having friends around.

Hey! What might be a good idea is if you create a profile on you can meet loads of people that way, see pictures and have a chat before you decide if you want to meet! It's by no means a dating site or anything dodgy - just a lot of people in the same situation as you! Just an idea, be good to hear how you get on!
