How's it hangin folks. I've been to Dubai before but it tends to suck when you don't know that many people. Everyone sort of keeps to themselves and it becomes a drag. Also way too many people that don't speak understandable English. I felt like an American in Mexico for the first time lol.
Anyway, I came across this forum and a lotta folks in here sound interesting so maybe this time around, when I come, I'd actually know someone there. I'm coming with a friend in another couple of weeks so what would be going on there by then ?
By the way, are there any hardcore Godfather fans up in here ?

Welcome to DF.
For Godfather you may like to speak to Jamal & ISH, they are the real live gangsters of DF.

Thanks for the welcome, both of you; and Sage, thanks for pointing me towards the right direction of your local mob faction lol. I'll make sure to get in contact with them soon.

Thanks a lot for the mass welcome everyone, I feel really special haha. For those of you who wished me a fun time, I hope someone up there is listening because my last experience in Dubai wasn't particularly great so I hope it's better this time around. What do you guys do for fun there anyway? The clubs and the coffee shops get quite boring after a few days.
It seemed to me that over there recreational spots were swarming either with conservative-type Arab families, or with little shmucks in baggy pants half way down their asses trying so hard to look cool.
Cyrix, It's a great relief to know that I have your family's approval, I have no clue what I would have done without it. Don Francesco of LA would not let me move there under his protection, so is your family offering me that instead ? lol. Anyway, if that's your twisted way of welcoming me, then so be it, thanks. And by the way, I like your avatar, you guys do that shyt there ? Because Ive been lamenting having to leave weed heaven here to go to Dubai where I heard that sort of "recreation" entailed some pretty heavy punishment.
Bleakus, I noticed that you mention paintball a lot, do you guys have that over there? because if you do then you better save me a spot, I miss that shyt so much its not even funny, but noone in the middle east did that as to my knowledge, so let me know man.

yes sir we do, we have it every 2 weeks, i post in the events if there are any games comin
hope you can make it

''What do we do for fun ?? '' I have not been living here myself for that long so I can't really begin to speculate on what everyone else gets up to at the weekend for fun...but I have learnt there is only so much shopping you can do and soon the night life begins to get similar each night....
I can recommend driving in the desert, I did this with friends for a spot of dune basing, hammering the shite out of our 4x4 over dunes - fun as long as you don't mind being spending some of the day digging your car out of the sand. I think you can do this with tours...depending on how long you are planning to spend here. And also chartering a yatch up in Sharjah to go fishing then spend the night camping out on the beach.....spear fishing the next day for a bbq.
Others have suggested heading down to the race track for a bit of go-karting, Falconry, Motocross or Quad biking. But not go around to these yet...... Not sure about much else but it might help to get you started!

Don Francesco is a shmuck, do not mention him again. And my family has always offered its good will to the five families.
The little leaf plant is apparently available here but I would not risk it. If things get messy, give sunny a call :).

That's great news Bleakus, I should be coming within the next 2 or 3 weeks so hopefully I'll catch the closest game. Only one problem: No gear. Am I going to have to spend 2- 3 grand on skirmish gear or are the prices moderate? Because I know already that I'm going to be on a tight budget concerning all things fun.
Lou, thanks a lot, those were a few ideas definitely worth looking into. I've never been fishing before, patience is definitely not one of my virtues, but I'd be willing to give it a shot. I just hope I don't get bored and start freaking out in the middle of the sea especially that open water is just not my thing. As for the digging, I only dig when there's a corpse to hide, otherwise, I've got people to do the dirty work for me lol.
Cyrix, that's good news. I never forget a favor, so when the next war comes around, your family will be well taken care of. Don Francesco is going to get whats coming to him, and this time around, it aint gonna be "the world and everything in it" lol.
I'm not sure if what you said about the zoot was good or bad news, but either way, sounded like it isn't worth the trouble trying to get my hands on some while there ... or is it ? hehehe. I'm one of those people who survive on that stuff, its my eau de vie, so I'm hoping those cops there have something to keep them busy other than my recreational habits.
My memories of Dubai weren't too friendly, but you guys have been great, thanks a lot - everyone. It's been greatly appreciated. What nationality are you guys anyway and what do you do in Dubai? I'm a mix-breed bastard. Half Lebbo half Italian-American. I'm coming to Dubai to do a crash course in recording technology and I'm supposed to be setting up my own record label/production house in one of the free zones in Dubai around 2 months after I get there. Any input anyone ?

dude, you dont need any gear for paintball, they have guns, paintballs and overalls. just give me a shout and we can play
Ironklad
They have all that ? Well that's great news then. I'm gonna be whoopin ass left right and center lol.
I didn't even know the place was a regular one. I thought you and your boys fixed up these games privately that's why I asked about gear. But if it's like that, then shyt I'm on the way!
bonitta
wellcome

Ironklad if you're an addicted weed smoker then either dont come here and do it, or give it up by being here.
Its not worth going to jail and being deported for.
But welcome anyway
Ironklad
Scarlet, there is no such thing as "addicted weed smoker", it's a choice, but thanks for the advice. It definitely is not worth going to jail for. I guess I was just thinking out loud voicing my dismay with the situation.
scarlet
hey im not disagreeing with your choice of it and it would certainly add to the party atmosphere sometimes... but it is a habit as much as alcohol is. You can go without it but you can miss it
Ironklad
Yes you are right, it absolutely can grow into a habit, and a difficult one to get rid of if you're the type lacking in self-control. Thankfully I'm not like that, but I certainly prefer it over alcohol due to numerous reasons including the fact that it doesn't make you stupid like alcohol does, nor does it cause you to lose control of your actions or a somewhat balanced perception of your surroundings. Not to mention the hangover effect alcohol is very well known for.
Anyway, there is a time to party and there is a time to get serious. I guess it wont kill me to stay clean for a few months lol.
