Definately a very nice area. Aside from the restaurants and being close to the beach, it also has the biggest organic food supermarket in Dubai (if your into that). Traffic in and out the neighorhood is kind of nasty....but that's Dubai life, you'll get used to it quickly.

Welcome to dubai and dubai forums
I stayed in Satwa and it's a vibrant place to live in
lil bit of traffic (which you can escape if you know the routes)
some nasty arab kids (not racism...it's true)
lot of filipino girls
lot of indian, pakistani and bangladeshi bachelors (??)
close to beach
close to Shk Zayed Road
Lot of restaurents
low budget market
etc....
that's satwa... welcome
if you are young, single, open minded person who even likes the smell of sweat and who looks out for some energy in the air, who believes in the unity of mankind, then satwa is the place for you
