Louloute
Hey all,
A shy hi from a new arrival.... finding it a lot more difficult than had imagined.... workwise, meeting people - wise....
Any tips?
arniegang
Welcome,
and it will get easier i am sure. Chat to peeps like Choc , Eastern Jewel, Gab etc, they are nice, and i am sure will be able to point you in the right direction.

Don't stress we've all been there. A new city, far from home, foreign land and an unbelievable amount of red tape, roll with the punches and keep an open mind/positive 'tude and all will work out.
Best of luck and enjoy your stay.
yshimy
hehehehehe, no not laughing about you, but on myself
i thought i'm the only one.
ppl here are different from home country, ppl are work are very cold and not hospitable for a new guy like we used to be back home.
also people on my building, but thank god they started saying hi and smiling in the elevator so... it is getting better.
Tips...... Well tell me if you found out.
Cheers
Jeevan

Louloute

Sorry to soil your puritanical reputation, which you work so slavishly to maintain!
Back to condensed milk-it makes good fudge too! Heat 450g of choc bits with one 450g tin of condensensed milk in a microwave for 2 minutes. Remove and stir until glossy. Line a small tin with gladwrap and pour in. Set in fridge and cut into squares!! You can add nuts to the mix too which is how it is supposed to be, but with false teeth one has to be very careful!! :)
I could have my own cooking forum "Cooking with Grandma" or "Invalid cookery for the Infirmed" :)

For shopping: go to Emirates Mall, IBN Battuta Mall or Mercato Mall
For beaching: try getting access on the private beach of Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Otherwise the public beach right next to it is just fine, with a nice view on the Burj El Arab 8)
Living: The Gardens, Greens
Working: Media City :P (but i noticed u already noticed that..)
Defo
PS: for going out: Madinat Jumeirah, Royal Mirage, Trilogy, Hardrock Cafe, Amnesia 8)
Louloute
