Jobs In Dubai - Jobs & Resume Search Sep 02, 2006
I just wanted to express my concerns about your Bayt.com - I saw a position on their site and the employer was Al Ghurair which is a very well know family and a good company to work for in Dubai . After I applied for the Finance Managers position I had to go through the registration process, I guess like every one does. But this process did it take 2 months before I got any kind of feed back, I was also asked to pay $239.00 in order to Get a "WoW CV" because the representative at Bayt.com told me that if I needed that job faster, this would be the price to pay, WoW indeed... I just believe this is as good as charging someone for a job, its more like, you dish out 880 AED and we can get you this job. Especially because the resume that I got from Bayt.com was something I could have done with some Google search copy / paste and produced in 10 minutes. That was not my resume, and those were not my skills.

I never got any kind of feed back from Bayt.com, even though I repeatedly emailed and called them. Now I have a resume that I paid 880AED for and the representative is not responding to my emails. I wish there were some organization I could go to and report this kind of treatment very unethical and misleading to what their website claims are. I am a U.K. citizen and I believe one should not pay for anything especially when we are looking out for a job, just like how it is back home.

I am wondering if this is happening to any other individuals out there who are looking for work. I do understand some online company's do charge some sort of a fee to provide some sort of a service that only makes my chances of getting a job better. I also believe this fee is paid at our own free will because we choose to register with them. But I do not believe an organization like Bayt.com should black mail a candidate and lure them to purchase their CV builder to get for a job. Just so you know, I am not the only one, I have gone through forums on Bayt.com being a scam, I have my friends who faced similar problems. I need advice, I need legal advice.

Bayt.com A Bad For Recruitment ! Sep 04, 2006
I have heard a lot of horror stories about this company. They are well established here in Dubai just like other e-recruitment services, but their services are quiet poor. Al lot of complaints I must say, one must think twice and most probably read this forums which is doing a really good job helping individuals like me in a job search and market feed back on agencies. I was once regestered with them too, but never got a single reply to my emails or phone calls in the past 3 years. How does this company call it self the BEST employment agency, that Ill never know.

So Kevin, what was the response to your resume they created. And why did you pay so much for a resume when these days you can actually get it for free.. I was going to buy one of Bayt.com resumes but my friends that paid for it said that they would just send back your resume exactly they way it looked in the first place with few lines and design added to it, so there was no point getting it from them.

I have heard that the Dubai Government is in the process of organizing a new employment board that is going to take all the scams out or expose them. All the agenices are going to be rated on the performance levels and the general public would be able to respond directly to the website and rate them.

Thank the guys at Dubai Forums, you are doing an excellent job !

Thanks foir the info. I have been looking at working in Dubai and have registered with bayt.com. So far, no leads, but also no requests for money.

The carreersindubai.com website asked me to submit my resume, then kept emailing me to complete it online using their website so it would "conform to UAE format" -- for a $34 charge. They also sent an email saying application accepted, so I wrote back asking if that meant I had been accepted for a job, or they had accepted my resume. They replied that they had accepted my resume, but it should be done online with their website...you can guess the rest. I never sent any money and now delete anything from them.

Incidently their emails always come in overnight in Thailand where I live, meaning the working day is 12 hours different (unless they work all night). I checked, and sure enough, the business is based in Canada.

I am also a register member of Jobs in Dubai Inc. and after reading all of your guyz comments, I thought to give them a call and talk to them. So two weeks back I did personally called at the head office of Jobs in Dubai which is in Canada, Mississauga near to some famous city called Toronto. I talk to one of the Account Manager….can not remember the Name for now but any ways after a long discussion on the phone, I got to know, how their process works. First I was thinking the amount which is had paid is for a particular position which I applied for almost 3 weeks ago. But that wasn’t a case. The fee is for to become a register member with them. They have created my online profile and that what account manager told me, that my profile is available to the employers who currently recruiting for Dubai. Now if employer will like my profile or my resume, he will contact me directly. I think, there will be a lot of candidates who are applying for one position. So I guess it’s all our luck and we have to be little patients about finding a job in Dubai. Hey!! No worries!!! What so ever it is, if I will not get a job, till next six months, I can always apply for a refund and I will get my money back!!!!…..again guys its all your own luck. And I guess we should stop blaming the other companies. Companies out there can not do a fake business, especially country like Canada or Dubai….

Don't pay recruitment firms May 18, 2007
Any responsible recruitment firm charges the employer not the jobseeker. You may want to invest a little in smartening up your CV or a new suit, but that should be it. The only real investment you should make is of your time. Make sure you assess the jobs properly, only apply to reputable companies, and filter the jobs appropriately. Prepare well, have a clear and concise CV and make sure you understand the role.

Good job websites have a wealth of information on the job marketplace and how to manage your job search and your career. Try http://www.eFinancialCareers-Gulf.com for size, if your field is Finance and Banking.

Good luck in your jobsearch.

Very few websites here post real Jobs. The one which give you a contact or sending resume for FREE might give you a hit because Job posters also try to find FREE sites. I found one for Jobs in Dubai especially
http://www.wagib.com/jobs

andrewd wrote:I am also a register member of Jobs in Dubai Inc. and after reading all of your guyz comments, I thought to give them a call and talk to them.
