Love is when a man puts on shaving cologne and woman puts on perfume and they go out and smell each other.

Being in love is the time period where a person will put up with abuse and claim "hey, I cant help it. I'm in love".

To put it as simply as I can, I love my brothers, my mother, my father. But I am NOT "in love with" any of them.

I can love and do love many people on many levels. Including ones I've lived with, married, etc.
But being "in love" transcends that feeling. It is hard to explain the difference, but I suggest that if you HAVE to ask -- then you are not.

someone is to always want the best for them, to protect them, to put their needs before your own. Kind of like deciding to be selfless.

Being IN LOVE
is that initial feeling we have before we truly love someone. It's the flip of the stomach when the phone rings and you see it's him....
the butterflies when he looks at you.

I believe that IN LOVE fades, but LOVE lasts.
