Well, to be honest, if your purpose is just to take pics and make some contrast and color correction, then any software can be used. But if the intend is to go professional or maybe make money by photography or photo retouching then I must say, Adobe Photoshop is industry standard, and I would recommend that you must get your hands dirty with it, as its not hard and youtube is huge free resource for it.

Also I would like to mention I will be absoultely available for photo retouching or photgraphy helps and tips if anyone is interested.

I always use Adobe Lightroom because it's just so much better than the crappy included editors that come with cameras e.t.c. It is a bit expensive though but it's definitely worth it. Btw if you're going to edit photos then you MUST shoot in RAW, jpeg's generally suck at everything

like flash litgh, filters aso.

Help...!!! .... My cousin had some modelling photos taken by a so called professional but the guy has ruined them with his Photoshop editing disaster and has now disappeared with our money .... Can any of you help in their recovery??.... I have a set of the originals before any editing or Photoshop so please if any of you can help let me know here, I'd really really appreciate it.
