Dress code in Dubai Sep 14, 2006
Hello;

I am planning to visit Dubai next month and was wondering what the dress code is around the area, especially for evening meals in restaraunts (mainly in the Le meridian hotel), and does Ramadan affect the way we're supposed to dress? Any input is appreciated.

Cheers

Sara this is not strictly correct.

During Ramadan it is better out of respect for our hosts that people dress modestly, especially in the more public areas.

Just use your head, obviously don't go wandering aound in public places wearing a vest top and short shorts. Both men and women should dress more modestly during Ramadan.

Not the case Sara, for instance if you go to Sharjah at any time in Short Shorts, the police can stop you.

Yes just to confirm what S&O and dbx said a friend of the family was arrested in Sharjah while he was outside in the parking lot washing his car in shorts :shock: the guy had to call up the CEO of the company to come bail him out and tell the police he is a respectable manager in a big multinational in dubai!! so if your in Sharjah keep those thighs hidden ;)
