Question on "jobsindubai.com"

RickTew Why do I get the feeling that someone from is posting messages saying - thank you so much ??? Not too much information on the company here but I did register and paid them a fee. Now I get e-mails constantly asking me for more money. I have received ZERO leads and it has been well over 2 months now. NOTE that I did receive an e-mail from from their "accepted" address: It states that there is an IMPORTANT update and they then offer a web link to post into the address bar of your browser. Excited to see what company is interested I do as they ask and guess what I get: =============================================== Thank you for submitting your resume to Jobs in Dubai Inc. for this position. Your qualifications were a perfect match to the employer’s job request. =============================================== After some more mumbo jumbo (none of which mentions anything about the job they are talking about) they go on to ask me to pay them some more money. They call it a DEPOSIT and the total is $34. US dollars. I already paid them to send out my resume and was not aware they would then try to charge me again not to mention all the times they send me e-mails asking for more money. Naturally I want to find out what companies I am a PERFECT match with but feel like I might be a little too naive if I buy into this strategy. They also list their company in Canada at the following address: Jobs in Dubai Inc. 51 Dundas St West, Suite 2027 Mississauga, Ontario, L5B 1H7 Canada This is in case you need to send them payment with a check. Which I find interesting as it seems the employer I am a perfect match for has all the time in the world to wait for me to pay and then move forward with interviews etc. To further cause frustration I have e-mailed numerous times to this company asking for explanations and or details or even just some friendly customer service. I have gotten ZERO replies. However I still get lots of e-mails asking for more money. I can't say this is fraud although I FEEL that it is. The Web site is believable and I thought I was doing the professional thing by hiring this company. I thought about just offering someone a finders fee for hooking me up with the right company (like $1,000) but not sure if that is legal in Dubai although I hear that most jobs are achieved through word of mouth and friends already in the companies. In any case I am not happy with the service I was hoping to be well ahead of the game by now. If anyone knows of a great strategy or service then please forward it over to me. My next strategy is to simply head to Dubai and spend a month dealing with the issue of finding employment head on. If you are in the industry please feel fee to pass on my resume - they are available on line at the following links: (acrobat format) (word format) Thank you and have a great day! Rick Tew
capt_mlvm Hi guys! I'm new to this forum. Could somebody kindly shed light to me on and . Are they really as effective as they claim to be? Are the payments to be made to both sites worth it? Please, please, I really do need your comments on this before I even begin my payments with them. Thank you and more power! :D capt_mlvm Please also give me your comments on . I would highly appreciate your responses. Thank you! :D dbxsoul hi there capt_mlvm there have been heaps of postings about jobsindubai i think they even have thier own thread going in the "dubai blacklist" forum ..... don't waste your money.... you'll see the details of other reputable companies posted on the site as well. run jobsindubai through the search function as there are too many references to try and link them all here. the_zooter Basically, I would say that anywhere that charges you personally (an individual) to find you a job, is a scam and should be avoided. Recruitment agencies should charge the client/recruiter the fees and not the candidates!! I believe this is the law here in the UK (could be wrong), but no doubt it isn't in Dubai!! sharewadi
AFAIK it is law in the UK and I think it is in Dubai also. But it's one of the "pretend" laws (ie there's usually no penalty for ignoring it).
Of course, companies can get round this by charging you a consultancy fee for looking at your CV or something like that.

Ah, yes, very competent but I didn't see "Searching" in that list. That'll explain your original question then  (I found your post because I was trying to work out if you were a troll or not - seem to be quite a few related to jobsindubai).
Information about jobsindubai is . capt_mlvm thanks for all your insights on this! :) I have decided not to engange on their "services" if that were the case. Would going straight to Dubai and personally hand-in my applications to companies there be a good idea? I have already sent my resume to some of the companies in dubai that I've searched through google or yahoo, but I guess I'm not yet satisfied with that. I would like immediate results (at least the fastest possible) and I guess by personally handing-in my resume would more or less guarantee that. Would this be a good idea? :) ^ian^
Yes steer clear of Jobs in Dubai and ALL other employment agencies that require a fee for their service. The bottom line is they are scams with the single motive of getting your cash. Yes they may send your CV to a database of thousands of recipients, but you know, its really just spam and it's spam coming from YOU (as they use your name and email address as the sender).
Tips for getting a job in Dubai would be:
* DO send your CV to companies, printed is better that email, and remember, they do get an awful lot.
* DO Sign up with all the reputable (and free) job sites and monitor them everyday.
* DO Read the Khaleej Times and Gulf News Sat-Thur looking at their appointments section. There are a lot of jobs advertised here. Gulf News Appointments are not online so you will need a paper copy.
* DO contact directly HR people and other managers of companies you may be interested in. Everyone has been through this before and you'd be surprised how helpful some people can be.
* DON'T rely on spam services such as JID or CV services. In fact, don't go near them, don't touch them.
* DON'T expect it to be easy, but if you're methodical about it, it will happen.
Applying locally is easier than applying internationally, but you get a better expat package if they bring you over. stacydso
Hello All! I applied in Jobs in Dubai almost 7 months ago, didn’t hear anything from them till last week, but this week I got an email from one of the employer that they want to do a telephonic interview with me. I wrote them my availability and the best time to call me, and then after two days, I did receive a call from an employer, I was so happy and excited about my telephonic interview. Any ways first I was thinking that Jobs in Dubai is a scam, but now after getting that call from employers, my all thinking is changed….thank you so much “Jobs in Dubai”. … joan Hi guyz, I know about and my experience towards is not bad, they are good in their services but I heard some people having a bad experience from . have some good reputation is UAE too. Find below the link which will help u to get to know about /

Dutchtoon any company that wants you to pay them so they can find you a job is a ripoff. Bayt and Naukri are not the best sites to look at as you get so much crap from them. Its better to be on the ground in Dubai unless you are extremely experienced with specialised skills. The agencies do work, but if the others are like me they get over 1000 CVs a day and its impossible to check every one, so they go on the database and then come up when you are doing keyword searches. Stick with it, you'll get there in the end. abdullah1 Hey guyz, Check out this new forum about jobs in dubai..... / c2518 don't bother paying scam artists they will not help you. do some investigation on the internet and register with the many reputable recruitment agencies working over here. a fact of life is the delay or lack of responses. if you send a 100 applications and get even 10% feedback you are doing well. most HR departments receive 100's of Cv's the majority of which are badly written, inappropriate and unsuitable for the role. get some professional advice before submitting your CV. it will pay off in the long run. if English is not your first language then get someone to proof-read it. I get some real howlers sent to me and they go straight in the bin. one guy was after a job as a Document Controller and stated one of his key skills as being able to sing and dance to the beat! make sure your Cv is relevant for the role. and good luck. jabbajabba
And this is your first post - sounds to me like there may be an outside chance you work for them?!??
But this will be denied I am sure. jabbajabba
Alas, the identity of the masked man will never be made known ;) mighty.one
HAHA.
